Summary: I LOVE TO EAT AGAIN!
Review: In order for me to loss weight on a low fat diet, I needed to run 4k daily, 20min of free weights, and turn myself into a rabbit, eating primarily salads(with that disgusting LF dresssing) Now, my energy level has increased significantly, and food tastes great again! The weight loss that I am experiencing is a bonus!! No more fad diets for me...I have a new lifestyle. Thanks Sugarbusters.

Summary: This is the ultimate guide for sugar addicts
Review: Well, one point in this book is made clear: no more sugar! Forget your sweettooth, and live on carrots and veggies for the rest of your life. In fact it's not that bad and there are delicious recipes in the book for "common" meals, but arranged in a smart, low-cholesterol way. If you stick by the strategy in this book, I think you can't do anything else, but lose quite a few pounds. Anyway, the suggestions are absolutely healthy. Another book that I recommend for all those that are frustrated as the "sin" during their desired discipline, is a very encouraging book that tells you you're precious no matter what you look like, which is Dietmar Scherf's "I Love Me: Avoiding & Overcoming Depression" also available at Amazon.

Summary: It works!
Review: In the last 8 months I've lost 35 + lbs eating the Sugar Buster's way (I'm 46 years old, use to weigh 230 lbs. now I weigh 193 lbs). I don't want to call it a diet because you are not dieting. A diet only works as long as you are on it. This is a new way of eating. Their are so many choices that you never tire of the SB approach. I'm presently working on my Master of Science Degree in Biology and can verify that the SB works from biological point of view. I have always excercised and could not keep the weight off. After following the guidelines in the book I'm eating chicken, steak, whole wheat bread, eggs, lots of veggies, almost all the fruit I want and Im still losing weight. The SB way is not a low carbohydrate, high protein diet. It is well balanced and full of fiber, carbohydrates, protein, and the right type of fat. I found that the sugar addiction is easy to break and once broken, culinary life is still enjoyable. This "diet" works because you can eat the SB way from now on. The book is well written and very informative. It is a must read for anyone interested in why the American public is steadly putting on weight. Buy the book it will change your life!

Summary: The book vs. the diet
Review: Although I don't feel this book is particularly well written, and the diet plan is at times vague, the basic principles are sound. We've been on the diet for 1 month. By eliminating all sugar and restricting carbs, and carefully monitoring his blood, my husband hasn't needed his diabetes medication at all (he's type 2 but not insulin dependent) - a real triumph. We've both lost weight, without feeling deprived. Best of all, no weighing or measuring!

Summary: Excellent information-Book is probably better than the tape
Review: I purchased the Audio Cassette book. It was extremely informative, and it also came with some really neat recipie cards. I'm still going to go out and purchase the book though.

There's a lot of information that you just can't remember from the tape. It would have been nice if they had listed the foods that are/are not allowed on the cards instead of the recipies.

Summary: A Breakthrough Way of Eating
Review: 100 lbs lost this past year thanks to SugarBusters. Colesterol down from 250's to 160's. Yet there are still those who lump this system in with low-carb fad diets. I defy those who actually READ this book to tell me anything about it that's unhealthy. You eat from EVERY food group (refined sugar is not a food group!) and instead of processed grains, you eat whole grains. Nowhere in this book do the authors advocate high protein or fat. Yet I can't tell you how many people think this is the message. The book says LEAN meats, NORMAL portions, limit (not omit) eggs, etc. I can only conclude the nay sayers have an unknown agenda or lack comprehension skills!

Summary: This diet works!!!!!
Review: I needed to lose about 15 lbs. I've tried a number of different diets with little success. A friend recommended this book. It is one of the most straight forwarded "medical" explanations for eliminating sugar intake. The book is an easy read and offers a number of easy to duplicate recipes. Other low carb diets have made me ill and dizzy, this one offers many more choices.

Summary: An Easy and Non-Painless way to Lose Weight
Review: I read this book after trying many diets such as the zone and low fat diets. I exercise a great deal and regularly but could not lose those last 20 lbs. After 2 faithful weeks on this eating plan, I have lost 7 lbs., am not at all hungry, have plenty of energy to run every morning and don't feel deprived (except for a lingering desire for potatoes!)

Summary: EXCELLENT!
Review: This is a wonderful book that explains sound nutritional principles in a tasteful (no pun intended) and appealing way. For anyone who is tired of the "1,000 calorie, 0 grams of fat, starve yourself to emaciation diet", this is the book for you. As the authors explain, fat is a necessary element for a healthy diet and - just as I learned in basic biology class - sugar and carbohydrates quickly convert into fat.

Also, the doctors explain why eating too many carbohydrates makes us feel drowsy and exhausted. I've always wondered why so-called "professional coaches" told athletes to carbo-load the day before a competition, and not the day of because eating too many carbohydrates makes a person tired. It always seemed strange to me to eat more carbohydrates if they just made you tired anyhow (and not to mention that they make you fat.)
