Summary: Fantastic
Review: "The Mom's Guide" is Fantastic! This book is easy to use, and the information provided takes the guesswork out of decifering nutrition labels. (I love the "Best of the Bunch" section.) My family has already enjoyed some of the recipes. The banana chip muffins are a real hit!

Summary: Easy, healthy, yummy!!
Review: Easy, healthy and yummy. That pretty much sums up the recipes in this great
book. All kinds of common healthy ingredients are used, stuff I bought in
the past but didn't know how to cook/use, like sweet potatoes and black
beans. Southwest chicken and rice, sweet potato and kale soup, all kinds of
different and interesting recipes that aren't too time-comsuming or
intimidating. Highly recommended!

Summary: Dietitian's recommend this book.
Review: Great resource for busy parents looking to feed the whole family healthy! As a registered dietitian myself, I have found this book to be practical, with quick easy ways to sneak good nutrition into meals. I am always looking for creative ways to feed my family and we have enjoyed every recipe (especially the sweet potato waffles). Now I have another great family cookbook to share with my clients!

Summary: I'm a groupie!
Review: I bought this book at a Mothers & More cooking demonstration. I loved that the authors were honest about how much time and energy Moms have in the kitchen and were realistic about what could be done with a 2 year old at your feet! My husband has loved every recipe I've tried - tonight was the fish sticks and the maple carrots. I still have many more recipes to try and I look forward to that!
My dad is the cook in our family and he loved the introduction because it doesn't try to have families change everything they do at once (which is unrealistic)..I recommend this book to my friends and other moms!

Summary: Just add carrots...
Review: I bought this book based on the reviews- they all seemed positive and encouraging. If you are really clueless in the kitchen, this book will definitely help you. If you know your way around the kitchen and are looking for some fresh, new ideas for healthy meals for your family, avoid this book. The authors' ideas for making a meal healthy most often include adding a carrot or two. Almost every recipe involving ground meat touts adding grated carrot to add extra vitamins and nutrition. Anyone can add carrots to a recipe. I could add shredded carrot to my creme brulee and call it more nutritious, but I doubt it would sell many cookbooks.

I was hoping that this book would help me with creative new ways to present food to my small children in order to get them to try new things, while helping me maintain my modest grocery budget. Most of the suggestions in this book involve a trip to a specialty grocery store, or the organic aisle at my supermarket- either way increasing the money spent on groceries. This book was a huge disappointment to me- I didn't need a book to tell me to avoid fast food. It contains too much common sense, and isn't worth what I paid for it.

Summary: Great Realistic Advice!!
Review: I have tried several of the recipies from this book on my very picky family. The recipies are easy, use readily available ingredients, and are delicious. The advice about school lunches and fast food is also helpful. At least one of my children has liked every meal. (It is too much to ask that they all like the same thing) I love the guilt-free use of frozen and convinience items. Definitely a winner!

Summary: Good Nutrition Made Simple/Great Recipes
Review: I love the way the authors did so much research on healthy products not to mention their great quick recipes. It makes it easy to re-think how we eat. The walnut-crusted salmon was superb! This book is not just for families with young children. There is so much good information that it suits any age.

Summary: Dependably Delicious!
Review: I love this book! I actually look forward to trying new recipes each week. They are easy to make and use ingredients I usually have on hand. Loved Mexican lasagna and sweet and sour shrimp. I also like having new vegetarian recipes to try for my non-meat-eating friends (pumpkin ravioli, zuke pie). You can only make so many veggie lasagnas!
Healthy, quick, easy-the perfect cookbook for busy people!

Summary: This book is great!
Review: I love this book. It's fabulous. The recipes I've tried all turned out great, and I'm looking forward to trying many more! They're interesting, but not exotic ... and NEVER boring or bland. I'd easily serve many of these dishes to company. They make great weeknight meals, and it's perfect for us that they are based on "really great food" but don't require a lot of specialty ingredients. This cookbook is already a favorite and will stay on our shelf for a VERY long time. Kudos to the authors for creating a masterpiece!
