Rating: Summary: In response to Get Skinny on Liposuction Review: Perhaps you've heard this by now but in case you haven't...Suzanne admitted having liposuction to "even out" after having a MASTECTOMY to treat her BREAST CANCER. Hope you feel like a big heel, now. This is a very good eating plan and the best payoff for me is I don't feel fat and bloated after meals.
Rating: Summary: More info available Review: You do NOT--repeat, NOT--have to eat any of the recipesin either of her books. However, they are there for suggestion. You are free to create for yourself, use your own (if they fit the guidelines,) or find some by anyone else. I can now utilize recipes in all my Martha Stewart books, as well as my newly purchased Barefoot Contessa books. No, not all will be "legal," but a number of them are, like Roasted Brussels Sprouts or Grilled Salmon Salad from Barefoot Contessa Cookbook, or roasted cherry tomatoes in Barefoot Contessa Parties! And if you're enjoying eating real food, why would you worry about much of anything else?
Rating: Summary: Hope the lipo story isn't true... Review: I do think Suzanne's book is well written, entertaining & has some important information. I do however think her claims are exaggerated. I have seen Suzanne get pretty chunky over the past year watching her on HSN & she admitted to cheating too much on her diet. If it works as great as she says it does to take away sugar cravings why is she herself having a hard time staying away from sugar & "cheating" on the diet? She looked like she was busting out of her tight clothes, even her upper arms were big. Now if she really did have lipo that tells me that is really how she gets skinny. I don't care if she has plastic surgery, it is making tons of $$ selling a diet that isn't nearly as great as she says it is.
Rating: Summary: In response to "Get Skinny on Liposuction" Review: Why are people so quick to try and drag down someone else's success? Suzanne Somers has always been under attack because she played a ditzy woman on a sit-com 20 years ago. If you really believe tabloids then you have the problem. Read some of the other reviews or change your eating and find out for yourself. Because I read Suzanne's books a year ago my entire family and many friends are happily losing weight or keeping it off. It's sad that you have nothing better to do than read tabloids and then write scathing reviews of a person when you haven't read the book she's written.
Rating: Summary: Get skinny on Liposuction Review: Suzanne, The March 20th Enquirer shows you leaving a surgery center after having liposuction. When should we look for the "Get Fat on Fabulous Food...then Have Liposuction" book?
Rating: Summary: Suzanne Somers Get Skinny on Fabulous Food Review: 03/04/01 My husband and I are both very pleased with the results of following this diet. We began the diet on New Year's (2001) and have managed to lose 50 pounds between the two of us (20 me, and 30 him). Not only are we happy about losing the weight, but we feel great! No more feeling "blah," or that tired feeling we always had. I finally feel good about myself, physically and emotionally. One thing I really would like though, is to be able to find this book in Spanish. I am having a very difficult time trying to get my family to understand this diet and it would be helpful if I could find a copy of it in Spanish. Please let me know if it is available and where. Thanks...
Rating: Summary: Disappointed Review: I only had 10 pounds to lose and thought Somersizing would be the way to go. By the end of the first week, after following the diet to the letter, I had gained 5 lbs! As soon as I switched over to Dr Atkins diet, within 2 weeks I had not only lost the 5 lbs, but an extra 8 lbs. In total I have now lost 17 lbs on the Atkins Diet and would not dream of eating all the carbohydrates that the Somersizing plan tells you to eat. I believe her plan is strictly for people who have 50 or more pounds to lose, but for those of us who want to lose a quick 10, Dr. Atkins is the way to go.
Rating: Summary: This Is A "Lifestyle Change," NOT A Diet! Review: A lady in my office lost 32 lbs and looks fantastic...all due to Somersizing. I purchased this book and I not only ADORE the food, but I love the way this style of eating maks me feel. You really don't bloat or get gas, which is a huge plus in my book! However, I have noticed people calling this a "diet." I consider it a lifestyle modification, because this isn't some crash diet you can only stay on a few months. This is a way of life! Combined with moderate (and I do mean MODERATE) exercise, I am steadily losing weight and...you guessed it, feeling great! Thanks, Suzanne! You're an inspiration and lifesaver to us all.
Rating: Summary: Suzanne Somers' Get Skinny on Fabulous Food Review: This book is great. My mom and I bought the books back in August of 2000. She started Somersizing right away but I couldn't stop snacking while at work. From August 2000 to January 2001 my mom lost 30 pounds. I was so proud of her and shocked when she acutally lost 5 pounds during the holiday season. I decided that it was time for me to get serious. I started my new way of eating on January 7th and when I wieghed myself January 12th I had already lost 5 pounds! The last time I lost 5 pounds I spent a month eating chicken breasts, green beans, and tuna straight out of a can. I just keep thinking that I'm almost at my wieght goal and it took no extra effort on my part. I recommend this book to anyone who has given up on "DIETS" and wants to make a change for the better.
Rating: Summary: continued success Review: I wrote a review about 8 months ago - have maintained my weight - am able to eat some "funky" foods and unfortunately I don't exercise so it is all maintained by food combining. I find it easy to do and we eat out quite a bit. I don't follow the recipes - just eat plain. The big joy of this past 6 months was buying a whole new wardrobe of size 8 and 10 pants (putting the size 12 with elastic waists in a box--never to be worn again. i hope) My sister has been following the program for about 5 months and is also pleased with her results. My husband gained back a little weight as he had to go off the program when on a trip where there were "set meals". So as a family, we are firmly into this program. The big thing is to eat a balanced diet during the day...fruits, protein, fats, carbos, veggies. Therefore it is healthy -- it is the combining that keeps the weight off. I never feel deprived because I can eat every few hours if I want to - and eat as much food as I wish. At holiday meals, I ate funky food, but immediately went back to Level I for a day or two. The rest of the time I am a Level Two person.
