I think this will be my long awaited answer. I gained 70 lbs during pregnancy 14 years ago and with lots of yo-yo dieting and additional pregnancies, I have managed to maintain my overweight state. I believe the combination of foods you eat is a key ingredient and Suzanne may be on to something. I have a couple of questions I hope someone can answer. At what point does the energy boost kick in? I'm exhausted! (no sugar - no caffeine) Did I miss any key information by reading the second book but not the first? Also, does anyone know where to find whole wheat pasta? I would love to receive E-mails with any suggestions from you successful somersizers.

I've been on her plan for 2 weeks now and have lost 3 lbs. I have one little problem or possibly big problem. I have had headaches daily and dizziness. It really doesn't feel normal. I would like to know more about the food combinations of eating. What kind of side affects do you get with "Ketosis", too much protein? I have read"Fit for Life" and "The Zone" Each book has different views. One says to eat breads with your proteins and the other says to eat fruit with meals. Which is it? Am I starving my body? They both have fat in their diets but not unlimited like yours. Please give me so medical advise. I am a very healthy person but approx. 20lbs. overweight. If anyone, preferrable a M.D. can give me some medical advise I would appreciate it. Also I was wondering if Suzanne Somers and Dr. D. Schwarzbein have an e-mail address. Hope to continue the eating plan.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Too Good To Be True Review: If it sounds to good to be true....it usually is! I bought this book on a Friday, read it over the weekend & started the program on Monday. I enjoyed the book, even though I was very skeptical. Eat all that fat & lose weight? I was very excited & ran out and bought tons of fruits & veggies (which I love anyway) and whole wheat pastas & breads, sugar-free sauces, etc. My goal is to lose 15-20 lbs. A friend of mine lost 15 lbs in almost 4 weeks, so I was sure it would work for me. After reading all the reviews about people losing weight on this program, I thought this would happen with me as well. Well, I did it for 2 1/2 weeks. I completely followed the diet to the letter, did not cheat at all, and did not lose one single pound in 2 1/2 weeks. I also think it's too hard to give up sugar completely because it is so hard to find products without any sugar. Also, no potatoes whatsoever & fresh, summer corn-on-the cob? But you can have fat, grease, butter & cheese? I am type O blood, I don't know if that makes a difference in this diet. The loss of sugar, which I don't really indulge in anyway, made me irritable & lethargic. I did not like the way I felt while on this diet - very weak. I am better off eating smaller portions of all foods I like & exercising at least 3x a week. I don't think this diet works for everyone. Congrats to everyone who is losing the weight on this program. Maybe I didn't do it long enough, but to me it was pretty hard to stick to - you DO have deprivation of food. Also, the "waiting period" between eating carbos & proteins (3 hrs.) was difficult. This was too good to be true for me. I will try eating low-in-saturated- fat meals, fruits, veggies, grains & exercise! (I DID enjoy reading the book, though & the recipes are great).

Review: I have always struggled with my weight and would gain back weight lost along with more with other diets or plans. What has surprised me about Suzanne's eating plan is the array of foods you can eat without fearing weight gain. I am a big eater so this eating plan was right up my alley. Since I have been on this eating plan (1 month), I have lost close to 20lbs. I feel better about myself, energy is up, and my taste buds are satisfied!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: It's a great way to learn how to eat properly. Review: I loved reading this book. I came here and read all the reviews yesterday. I wanted to know what other people might think of it. I think that some of the misinformation might be that people don't understand that she wants us to use our own judgement and not worry so much about measurements and weights (of food )and so on. IF you want to worry about all that, you can look up the food pyramid. That's what we currently think is "proper" guideline. Eat until you are satisfied, not stuffed. Also, when you read the book, she does say that sugar is evil, but she doesn't say that after you gain control you can't have any. Just use judgement is what the whole book is about.

Review: It must feel great to be an angel Suzanne, I have struggled for years to stay 'thin'. I exercised, I counted calories, I switched to high carbs, (but not for long!). It was awful to enter menopause and see my weight begin to creep up and me totally out of control. Sugar is the culprit and I finally get it. A big fat light bulb has lit up my universe and I'm clued in! And I'm eating fabulous food! I marvel at how easily the weight has come off! So far, 8 pounds in 2 weeks! And I'm eating wonderful tasty food! My family is on this and they don't even know it! Thanks for the education. As for me and my house, it's death to funky foods and hello healthy eating.

I have more energy and I feel great! After the first week I noticed an energy increase and could even stay up later and get up earlier without being tired. However, the pudgy, soft cussion on my forearms, tummy and lower extremeties always mystified me as I do walk a bit every day and do a little bit of free weight work three x a week. Once I read the book and grasped the concept, it made so much sense. I have been somersizing now for one month. I need to purchase new jeans as I have lost a few inches off my waist as well as other areas of my body. I thank God for the insight of Suzanne Somers and all of the people in her life who have supported her during the creation of Eat Great, Lose Weight and Get Skinny on Fabulous Food. The recipes are wonderful and not hard to make (for those of you wondering). My husband has joined on the band wagon as well. We will Somersize for life. I FEEL GREAT!!!! Happy Cookin'& Happy Eatin', Sue. Anyone interested in sharing their progress, just email us.
