Summary: Works for me!
Review: I lost 10 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks and had to move to Level 2 tostop losing so fast! Imagine--cheese as a snack! I miss pasta withmeat sauce, but its well worth the results. The recipes are too complicated and expensive, but just watch how you combine foods and it works!

Summary: THE most common sense way to getting your body back!
Review: After having tried EVERY diet known to mankind, I was creeping up the scale to a point of despair. The fear of having to carry around these extra 70 lbs. for the rest of my life was SO depressing...I didn't want to go anywhere or do anything. My husband has gained also and needs to lose about 50lbs. I'm an RN and knew about nutrition, but couldn't pull it together. Then I learned of Eat Great...Lose Weight and knew this HAD to be the key! This new book, "Get Skinny On Fabulous Food" is just the "cream" of her "Eat Great, Lose Weight". After following the plan to the letter (it was SO simple!) I've lost 10lbs in 9 days! My husband, too, has lost 10lbs! We have NEVER eaten so well...such healthy food. Those who say that her recipes are expensive are not taking into account that they are not wasting their money on junky "funky foods" any longer...PLUS the cost is minimal considering the health and self esteem benefits! All 4 food groups and weight loss never tasted so good! My husband has not had ONE digestive incident since this program! I KNOW this will be a way of life for us for the rest of our lives! We are so excited about getting back to our once lean bodies and look forward to doing all the things we enjoyed doing before gaining so much weight. We'll NEVER be out of control again! Summary: Be patient, stick it out!
Review: After reading the comments from people who haven't lost any weight, I suggest they try Dr. Schwarzbein's book for more encouragement. People have varying levels of insulin resistance, and it may take as long as 6 months to see results, she says. Cigarette smoking causes/increases insulin resistance, and this being my particular vice, I have found that after only a week of eating this way, I have decreased the amount I do smoke and expect to quit entirely very soon. I feel great and have a lot more energy.

Summary: Have not lost weight in three weeks but glad to be off sugar
Review: I like reading her book and it all makes sense. It just must be hard for some to lose that last ten pounds. I've been on the diet for three weeks and have lost only one pound. I work out and exercise four times a week and have followed it to the tee. I am happy to be off sugar and coffee - didn't even have a headache and that's amazing for a five cup a day person. Anyone who has been on it and had trouble losing could you e-mail me some tips? I wish Suzanne had put in more troubleshooting ideas for those of us who are not losing. Portion control - what to cut out!!! She needs a web site.Please anyone who can help, I'd like to hear from. Maybe all of us somerizers can start a club!!!!!!!

All in all a good book.

Summary: Great idea, but it just doesn't work.
Review: I bought this book and was really upbeat about it. After trying the program for a period of time I have discovered that it just doesn't work. And, no, I didn't "cheat." I ate no sugars, white flours, or "funky foods." My advice would be to save your money and NOT buy this book.

Summary: I got my waistline back!
Review: I recently bought "Get Skinny" because I heard Suzanne on Larry King. She discussed the problem women have with gaining weight in the reproductive organ area (waistline). I have had that problem for years. I constantly looked 4-5 months pregnant. Skinny legs and neck, fat waistline. Diabetes runs in my family. I feared being at risk plus I could never tuck in clothing. I enjoyed her method for 3 days and lost 3 lbs.It works. I did not follow any of her EXPENSIVE recipes. I just followed the concept.Stay on Level One until your waistline looks the way you want it. Check labels for hidden sugars.

Summary: They're not going to stop making chocolate tomorrow¿
Review: This is a great book. Once you get past the initial 2-3 days (which felt like withdrawal for me), this way of eating is easy and delicious. It's something I've needed to do for a long time, and I'm so glad I did. I've never felt better, and I'm so proud of myself for not cheating. My mom and my sister are also eating this way, and they feel the same.

For those people who think this way of eating is too restrictive or difficult, get over it. Stop making excuses. For those who think they don't have time: If you want anything bad enough, you'll make time. This is a far healthier way to live. Whoever said that high carbs were the way to go should be shot.

Summary: Am I too impatient?
Review: I've been on this diet for four weeks and have not lost any weight. I work out Monday-Friday for about an hour each day, and work with weights. Has anyone out there been that slow in losing weight? Also - I'm a little confused. I have been eating foods containing fat instead of low fat (cheese, salad dressing, etc.) Would that account for my inability to lose weight? I only need to lose a few pounds.

Summary: Just starting and have questions???
Review: I just finished reading the book and have only begun "somersizing." I am a married college student and can't afford a lot of the recipes that are included in Suzanne's book- although they sound wonderful. Also- I'm not sure what to eat between meals- and what's allowed? It was a wonderful book and I am so motivated to make this way of eating. . .a way of life!

Summary: Finally! A diet that works!
Review: I absolutely loved this book. I bring it with me everywhere for constant motivation. I heard about this book from my sister-in-law who lost 28 lbs and looks wonderful. I decided to give it a try and am so glad I did! Giving up sugar was really difficult for me (and I do cheat every once in a while) but the results you get from cutting out the bad carbs are unbelievable. My fiance can't stop complimenting me on my progress and that makes me want to stay on track forever. Thanks Suzanne, for showing me that I can lose weight quickly and effortlessly! For those of you who are losing weight slowly, stick with it - you WILL see results!
