Summary: Support for Insulin-Conscious Eating
Review: I read "Get Skinny on Fabulous Food" while preparing my own book ("The Gourmet Prescription: High Flavor Recipes for Lower Carbohydrate Diets") for publication. As a physician concerned about our epidemics of obesity, cardiovascular disease, and type 2 diabetes, I applaud Suzanne Somers' contribution to the weight control debate. As the author of a lower carbohydrate gourmet cookbook, I welcome her appealing contributions to insulin-conscious cooking. I hope that together we can help carbohydrate-watching dieters avoid food boredom!

Summary: The weight just FALLS off!
Review: I was in the fitness industry for over 6 six years and I had never read a "diet" book in my life! I saw Suzanne on a talk show and she convinced me to at least look at it. I read the forward and it was sooo logical I couldn't help but buy it. I read the entire book in one night and the next day cleaned out my pantry! I have now been Somersizing for 4 months and kickboxing for over a year and I've lost 15 inches and over 30 pounds! The majority of that weight came off with the Somersizing. No measuring or counting calories or fat grams, just smart food combining. I've always been a big eater and I'm always satisfied after a Somerized meal. Thanks Suzanne!

Summary: I don't know about others, but it's working for me!
Review: I am a 41 y/o female who underwent a "total" hysterectomy 5 years ago. I am currently taking estrogen, and I know that affects my ability to lose quickly. I have also yo-yo dieted for many years. However, this way of life really seems to be working for me. I have lost 10 pounds in 6 weeks. I have 10 more to lose...hopefully before my daughter's wedding on Thanksgiving! I have found that I have to limit my fat intake somewhat (I still order dressing on the side, can't eat a pound of bacon, etc!) Giving up caffeine and sugar has been a major victory for me. I definitely feel better now (after enduring my initial 3-day hangover as a result of getting sugar-free and decaffeinated!) I am an instructor in the health care field...I believe this is a healthy diet and I know that it is one that is easy to follow!

I'm wishing you all success!

Summary: Delicious recipes that really work
Review: This book has great and delicious recipes. It's an enjoyable way of losing at least a few pounds--and it worked for me. Even though I'd like to lose a little more, this book has taught me to understand that delicious food if it's healthy, is not my enemy. But to boost my self-esteem, even if I don't lose more weight and if I feel overweight, I highly recommend a book that has helped me tremendously to love myself just as I am, which is Dietmar Scherf's "I Love Me: Avoiding and Overcoming Depression"--also available at Amazon.

Summary: Seems like many of us would like a support system.
Review: Since many of us have questions and would like to have a support system, can anyone suggest ideas? What about small group meetings, informally, or a newsletter? What about Suzanne Somers backing this idea? Can we contact her for ideas? How else can we share information to get answers to questions and support?

Summary: It really works!
Review: I have only been Somersizing for about 2 weeks weighing 150 lbs. and now I have already lost 7 lbs. I have struggled with my weight for the last 10 years. I am only 5'4'' but I hide my weight rather well because I excercise about 4 times a week so fortunately, a lot of the weight is muscle. Still, I want to get down to about 135 lbs. I am going to take it slow, day by day but Somersizing makes it so easy! Forget those Slim Fast shakes like I'm sure many of you have tried numerous times.

After Somersizing for 2 weeks, I have noticed my pants are now looser - it's a great feeling! I recommend Somersizing because after reading Suzanne's book and learning how to combine food properly, you'll see it's easy to lose weight! I have no more digestive problems like I had for so many years and I never feel bloated or have that "stuffed" feeling after I eat. Best of all, I feel much better and know that I look better too!

Combine your food properly, excercise regularly, drink lots of water and enjoy losing the weight! Good luck to all you Somersizers!

Summary: It works! I need EASIER recipes and ideas. Please HELP!
Review: I am 26 years old and just had my 2nd child in Feb. I gained 46 pounds during the pregnancy + I already had 30 pounds to lose before I got pregnant. I bought this book in May and immediately lost 15 pounds. I haven't lost anything since then and was hoping someone out there could help me. I am starting to cheat out of frustration and I need more meal ideas. My family is sick of eating salad. It seems like the only thing I make for dinner is chicken or fish with some kind of veggie or salad. I need more ideas with less fancy ingredients. If anyone out there is reading this, please email me @ mccann@gte.net. Thanks, Julie from Atlanta.

Summary: Love it so far but have tons of questions! Stalled @ 9lbs.
Review: I loved the book and recipes at first. But after loosing 9lbs in a little under two weeks weight loss has stopped with no cheating. I have tons of questions...If a salad dressing shows 5g of sugar on the label but has no added sugar, honey, (funky foods) in the ingredients can this be eaten? Balsamic vinegar has 4g of sugar. Is there some guideline I've missed for label reading? Or is the rule 0g Carbs when pro/fats are involved and 0g sugar no matter what or where it comes from? I would love to hear from others who have plateaued and gotten past it. Also any help on sugar grams and label reading would REALLY be appreciated.

Summary: Suzanne's book is the best eating plan I've found!
Review: I was a Dr. Atkins diet dropout, several times, because I just couldn't stick to the extremely low number of carbohydrates allowed with his diet. Thank you so much, Suzanne, for explaining how you can have your carbos and proteins and fats...but not all at the same time. I really believe the key is avoiding bad food combinations (and a few funky foods). This is an excellent book...I would highly recommend it to fellow, former Dr. Atkins dieters and anyone else who wants to lose weight. It is the way to lose weight and still feel great!

Summary: Good concept, will it work for me?
Review: I read the book and thought the concept would work for me, however I have been following the diet closely and have only lost 2 pounds in two months! I do feel alot better, but would like more results. Any comments or suggestions?
