Summary: A well-balanced eating plan which is logical and works.
Review: This version of a diebetic diet combined with Ms. Somers system of food combinations is absolutely the most effective diet with which I am familiar. I started in mid-July, and had lost 30 pounds by Oct. 15. I do not intend on "changing back" to regular eating, because this eating tastes better than what I was doing, and my husband loves it. He is naturally slender, but eats the 'phase two'and does just fine. The hardest part for me was giving up having butter on my toast, but since I can have butter on my veggies, so what?I went from a tight size 14 to a 10!Right now I'm trying to slow down the losing process without gaining (the truly hard part of a diet) and have slowed to a half pound loss per week. I LOVE this plan. I have two of Ms Somers' books just to get more delicious recipes.

Summary: I lost 23 pounds!!!!
Review: I used to always watch my fat intake. My diet consisted of cereal in the morning with 1% milk, at lunch I would have yogurt, fruit and pretzels, I drank iced tea with sugar every day and drank coke or pepsi which has a lot of sugar, my snack would be more pretzels and at dinner we would have a meat, pasta or rice or potato, and a vegetable. At night I might have ice cream or a cookie for a snack. So my diet consisted of a lot of carbo's. I read this book and most of the time I followed it to a T and lost 23 lbs. I tried to follow a low fat diet and exercised and could not lose weight. I feel great and am kind of following the level 2 diet but kind of need to go back to level 1 for a little bit because I do feel sluggish, but I haven't been able to exercise lately and am looking into kick boxing which should help with the sluggishness. I feel this diet gives you carbs that you need not like the Atkins diet which cuts out all carbs including fruits and vegetables. I really did not try the recipes because my husband wasn't interested in them so we improvised our own meals. I recommend this book and diet to anyone. Good luck.

Summary: I fell off the wagon!
Review: I was doing very well with this method of food combining and then, at Thanksgiving, had one teeny little bit of lemon pie and Whamo! I'm a sugar addict and with just one little taste, I was off and running, binging on anything and everything sweet. I am now back to my original weight and am having such a tough time getting back on track. So if you're on this program, DON'T FALL OFF! I am once again trying to stay with it but sugar keeps calling me. And I was so sure this was IT. So easy to follow and delicious recipes.

Summary: Wish you had frozen meals for busy working people
Review: I love the idea and just started trying the plan last week, however living here in Ohio makes it difficult to get some of those wonderful veggies that are in the recipes. I wish she would come out with some frozen meals for the people work and attend school full time with no extra time to cookk those delicious meals.

Review: The recipes in this book are great. To the two below wondering about why it's not working fast enough, she does say in the book it can take a few months before you start to see results. Just be patient.

Summary: Not everyone is meant to be a carnivore!
Review: Not everyone can metabolize and digest meat and dairy products. I followed this diet and actually gained weight! I knew something was wrong because I excercise 5 days a week and only had a few pounds to lose. What I discovered is I cannot eat dairy products and meat too frequently or it will get stored as fat. Now I am eating high fiber carbohydrate foods and mostly vegetarian fare and the pounds are melting off! Some people LOSE weight eating mostly carbohydrates (high in fiber) and I am one of them.

Summary: Great book but not so great results
Review: I've been on this plan now for 2 weeks and I only lost 1 lb. I' m following everything like Suzanne sais in the book. I also have a terrible lower back pain all the time and I'm exeperiencing frequent urination like never befor in my life . Could be that something is wrong with my kidneys,due to this diet? Does any one have the same problem? Please somebody tell me..... I read about all this people loosing so much weight so fast and I don't understand why I'm not. Thanks for whoever want to answer me.

Summary: Great philosophy, great recipes, feel great-but slow loss.
Review: I really do like the diet. I've been on it for almost five weeks and I find it easy to follow - excellent food!...but I have only lost TWO pounds and I'm wondering what I could do differently. I am 46, 5'4", and only want to lose 15 pounds - I weighed 150 and after five weeks, I weigh 148!? I haven't cheated and I want to continue the regimen!..but I would love to see some better results. All the reviews I have read sound so positive and seem to work much faster.

Summary: Just a question for all those somersizers/low carb dieters
Review: I started this diet about 2 months ago and have lost quite a bit of weight since then. Though I did crave the carbs at first, eventually these cravings passed. However, I was wondering if any women out there are having irregular periods on this or any other low carb diet out there, just type a response if you have any comments. Thanks.

Summary: Excellent! Especially if you follow it. I have shed 52+ lbs
Review: The eating plan is very easy to follow. The whole concept of the eating plan makes sense and since June of this year I have lost 52+ pounds. I am very grateful to Suzanne Sommers for staying with the weight loss info and putting it in writing for all of us to find the key to successful weight loss and health.
