Rating: Summary: An healthy lifestyle choice Review: Was recomended to me by English friends but was not available here in Australia. The net provided! Found Montignac required my faith to get results. I followed his method and my weight dropped by 4 kgs. in 6 weeks. A lapse in concentration saw my weight begin to climb so adjustments were made. But it is my lifestyle choice. One must attack the pantry and dump all those things that we have always known were bad news. Else ways life will continue on its course of weight struggles and diets. Giving the man a chance, I found his eating regimes were sustainable as well as the foods to eat interesting and tasty. I now not only eat differently, but eat less, albiet more frequently. I am inspired to persist with resisting the temptations of the junk food industry although I do allow lapses into the mire for social reasons from time to time. Montignac's methods are well supported by my readings on the subject for the past few decades, and presented in a very easily followed book. Again, it is a life style choice, I am very impressed with the results so far. It is not a diet for a week or whatever, it is a method for life.
Rating: Summary: The easiest diet imaginable! Review: My brother recommended the Montignac method to me after he had used it to lose over twenty pounds. I have lost 35 pounds in the past four months. I am never hungry and my overall eating habits are far healthier than they were before starting the diet. As a physician, I was concerned that the extant high protein, high fat, low carbohydrate diets would violate too many principles of healthy eating. By contrast, methode Montignac recommends the careful inclusion of whole grain foods, and essentially unlimited quantities of low glycemic index fruits and vegetables. I would estimate that the percent of calories that I consume in lipids has actually decreased on the method (although, of course there is no calorie counting in the Montignac method). What is great about Montignac is that unlike diets that require severe caloric and quantity restriction or the ingestion of diet shakes, it is so sustainable in the long-term, because it is fundamentally healthy and leaves you well sated after every meal. I have had so many requests to borrow this book that I have had to purchase additional copies.
Rating: Summary: What a relief! Review: I have finally found a diet that works! Easy to follow, the punds are just shedding off of me. Read this book, follow the principles and you will never regret it!
Rating: Summary: Lost 20 pounds never felt better Review: By following this "diet", and combining it with regular, albeit light, exercise, I have lost 20 pounds and have never felt better. I have more energy and far fewer mood swings than I did when I was eating lots of rice, bread, potatos and bagels - all of which I thought were healthy. The best part is, I actually eat more now than I did before I started the diet, just I don't eat all the garbage I used to eat. A note to Asian readers: this diet takes a fair amount of effort to follow, given the importance of rice and the heavy use of sugar in cooking just about anything in Asia. But if you work at it, you can find foods to eat without sacrificing the method. Bravo to Mr. Montignac, although his writing style is a touch arrogant occasionally. If he came out with a book tailored to the Asian diet, I'd run out and buy that.
Rating: Summary: Ahead of its time Review: I was very skeptical of this method when I first heard about it. After all, I have been hearing for years and years that we had to count calories to be able to lose weight. I finally tried the method after my mom's friend had did it and lost 50 pounds. I have been on the Montignac method for a year and a half now. I do not deprive myself, however, I have changed the way I eat and the way I think about food. The method is much easier than other low carbohydrate diets and it doesn't eliminate whole food groups. This method has been out there for a while now, long before I heard about SugarBusters and The Zone, that's why I find that Montignac is ahead of its time. It is also the first low carb diet that hit the market in Quebec, where I live. For anyone who wants to go on a low carbohydrate diet, this is the way to go...

Rating: Summary: Highly Recommended Review: Even though I've been eating a basically low-carb diet for over 5 yrs., I learned things in this book that lowered my husband's cholesterol over 120 pts in less than 2 months. This is the first time his cholesterol has ever been under 200. Easily maintained as well. I strongly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: Finally found something that works! Review: I have always wondered why some people can get away with eating anything and not gain weight and why I eat anything and I gain weight. In fact, for my entire life with the exception of the times during which I dieted, I have gained weight! Thought I was doomed, I have yo-yo'd 4 or 5 times and my body has gotten to a point where it would not cooperate with yet another "starve yourself" diet. Along comes Montiganc and his Method, I was very skeptical because his premise is not based on quantity, rather, it is based on selection and mix. I first applied the Method rather loosely and lost a few pounds, then I got lazy and cheated. The result was no more loss, however, I did maintain my weight for an amazing 5 months without gaining anything. This was quite a departure from my normal mode of operation. So, I dug in my heals and decide to follow the Method carefully, result is the weight is coming off, I am not hungry, my energy levels are more consistent (no more afternoon carbo-naps). The book has likely saved my life, thank-you Michel Montiganc.
