Summary: A must have...
Review: Sharron Long has done it. She's successfully written a locarb cookbook as interesting as it is tasty. For all those locarbers who are sick of eating the typecasted "normal" locarb foods, she's taken time and research to provide you with luscious treats, amazing breakfast options and unwavering good-for-you pick me ups.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone, not just lowcarbers.

Summary: Super for the whole family
Review: The best thing about this cookbook is the recipes appeal to everyone I cook for. The next best thing is I usually have what I need to make a recipe already on hand! Sharron makes it easy to feed my family in a healthy, low-carb manner with easy, delicious recipes. I highly recommend this book!

Summary: Astounding!
Review: The moment I received this eagerly awaited (5 stars) low-carb cookbook I immediately sat down and read it cover to cover--with a bottle of white-out to cover up all those exclamation marks. No one else has mentioned this feature of the book, but exclamation marks are all over the place: front cover, back cover, comments, directions, even in the ingredient lists. Please, I love the title of this book and hope to actually make some of these recipes! But please!! An editor (!) to remove all those !!!!!! marks would be great!!!!!

Summary: Exciting recipes, lovely book
Review: These recipes are different enough to be exciting for a long time low carber, easy enough to be done by a novice cook, and delicious enough to be eaten by anyone! Along with Sharron's own brand of homespun wisdom and her unique perspective as a Candida sufferer, I completely enjoyed the simple beauty of this book's design. This cookbook is simply a joy!

Summary: GREAT..GREAT..GREAT!!!
Review: This cookbook is a lifesaver for those low-carbing. Delicious recipes with a tremedous amount of variety which helps when you get tired of the same ol' protien/vegies. Lots of ideas for you to "springboard" from to make great food. Thanks Sharron for another great cookbook!

Summary: A Low Carb Masterpeice!
Review: This is for all those people who don't believe that they can actually DO low carb, for those who think that there's nothing you can eat! Wonderful down to earth recipes, Sharron has done it again with this gem.

Best of all they are recipes that the whole family can enjoy with you. My picky little 4 year old granddaughter loves the Fake-a-Roni & Cheese. I highly reccommend this outstanding cookbook!

Summary: low carb cooking, made plain and simple with great results!
Review: What more can I say? Sharron's recipes are always what she says they will be. The recipes are well written and explained; the ingredients are ones I always have on hand, for the most part.
I have never been dissapointed with any recipe I have tried.
There is a definite art to Low Carb cooking and Sharron helps you achieve that art! Thanks Sharron!

Summary: One Terrific Cookbook!!
Review: Whether you are a novice low-carber, or a seasoned pro, this cookbook is for you. The recipes are creative, varied, and clearly explained. The author's warm, homey style comes thru on every page, making this book a pleasure to read and work with.

And what recipes! You will find everything from lasagna to lemon bars, and each one more delicious than the last. Anyone who thought that low carbohydrate cooking was difficult or boring has got to get this book.

There is far more than just recipes here. Sharron also includes sample menus, shopping list suggestions, a carb counter, and helpful information on working with sugar substitutes. It's packed with everything you need to make your low-carb lifestyle a success.

If you are looking for a great gift for a low-carber, or need a cookbook for yourself, then this is it. Sharron's book holds a place of honor on my (rather crowded) cookbook shelf, and I use it constantly.
A word about ingredients: every ingredient used in these recipes is available in any good health food store, or online. Any serious low-carber has and uses these items regularly (and if they don't, they should). None of them are "weird" to anyone who follows a low carb lifestyle. Soy and stevia ARE whole, healthy foods, and have many health benefits. Sharron's recipes are easy to make, family-friendly, and healthy.

Summary: Comprehensive but not compelling
Review: While this cookbook is very comprehensive, with a variety of recipes for many meals, it's not a compelling buy. Several of the ingredients are either very unusual or very expensive. Plus, the effort to cut carbs with a heavy dose of soy and almond substitutes generally results in laborsome recipes.

I appreciate this cookbook as a general guideline to low carb cooking and will likely modify the recipes to suit my tastes, budget and ease. Overall, I probably wouldn't recommend it.

Summary: A Wonderful Cookbook!
Review: With so many people discovering the health benefits of low carb eating, there is a real need for cookbooks! We have to "re-learn" a number of things about ingredients and food preparation that might have become ingrained from living for so many years in the shadow of the carbohydrate laden "food pyramid."

Sharron Long's latest work is a wonderful collection of recipes - each tested by real people with real families! A perusal of the contents dispels commonly repeated misconceptions about low carb living, such as "all meat and no vegetables." This is a balanced and healthy way to eat, with plenty of veggies included in almost every Main Course dish.

There are many delicious surprises in Sharron's book for those new to this way of eating: Pizza, egg rolls, zucchini bread and, yes, even a low carb granola! All are delicious and none are terribly complicated. Most dishes are "down home easy" and all are tasty and satisfying.

The book is well organized, well indexed and the layout is pleasing to the eye. There are useful informational appendices and many little "tips" and bits of knowledge sprinkled throughout.

For someone new to low-carbing, this book could make the difference between success and failure. There is simply no way to become bored with the menus available here. For the veteran, no low carb cookbook collection can be called complete without this latest offering.
