Rating: Summary: Cheesy but cheap Review: If you can get past the part about how juicing will save the world, then there are some tasty recipes here. And as a paperback book, it fits in anyone's budget.
Rating: Summary: the original juicing book! Review: I`ve had this book for several years and its great. There are many delicious recipes in it.There are even recipes for specific ailments.Jay Kordich is the original juice man! Alot of people have jumped on the juicing bandwagon, like cherie Calbom and Jack Lalanne, but Jay was the very first to promote juicing.
Rating: Summary: Do you want to get healthy? This book is for you! Review: Jay goes into great detail with recipies and the properties of certain foods for optimum health. No one would regret taking Jay's advice no matter what your condition. You will look better and feel better naturally. Now the juices don't taste like pie or cake, veges are veges, but adding an apple or orange to any of the recipies enhances the flavor. There is nothing quite like juicing for physical power and sense of well being! Always remember, organically grown is best for the body to heal quickly!
Rating: Summary: Good read, solid info.. incorporate juices! Review: Jay Kordich, better known as "The Juiceman" put together a fine book here. The information about the benefits of being a vegetarian is bar-none, as solid as it gets. There are many great recipes for different juices. I love the section about what each different fruit and vegetable does inside the body. Wonderful information. Drinking but one glass of juice yields as many phytonutrients as most American's get in a few months from food alone. Gary Null, my idol, fully backs up the Juiceman's beliefs. I'll take advice from a 80 year old with such vigor. Enough vigor to do 100 pushups!
Rating: Summary: The Juiceman taught me not to eat dead food! Review: May sound scary at first, but think about it, when we fill our bodies with dead things, how alive can we really be? The Juiceman's Power of Juicing introduced me to the ways of Jay Kordich. When I opened his book, he and I embarked on a journy of wealth and wellness, with Mother Nature as our guide. I reccomend Jay's book because he really tells you how to achieve a healthy existence by harnessing the secret life powers contained in fruits and vegetables.
Rating: Summary: Incredibly concise and helpful! I was amazed! Review: The book is essentially a book of recipes for various juices. It is easy to understand and even easier to actually make each of the different juices. The book also contains a section devoted to dissecting the health benefits of the various fruits and vegetables. I was a little wary of this portion of the book since Mr. Kordich has no medical or nutritionist background and because he claims that carrot-apple juice saved his life from some serious illness that he suspiciously neglects to mention. Unfortunately, this omission put me on my guard as I read through this portion of the book. Regardless, if you are looking for easy recipes for fairly good tasting juices and not a health bible, this book is the way to go.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT BOOK FOR JUICING BEGINNERS Review: the recipes are EASY, FUN, FAST! This book is fabulous. I love the glossary in the back that details exactly what each vegetable & fruit is good for, what diseases they fight, etc. I absolutely recommend this book to any and everyone who loves vegetable and fruit juices. This book is truly a gift to share with others. Just like my new beverage of choice that replaced my morning brew. Its called s oyfee and taste so wonderful with no caffeine or acids. Organic and made from soya! Bye bye acid stomach and hello healthy tummy! Google it under "acid free coffee".He makes it both fun and easy to create your own juice bar, right in your very own kitchen.I reccomend this book to anyone that wants to live a long and juiceful life.
Many people do not understand the life restoring powers behind juice, after all, as the Juiceman says 'You squeeze a carrot, not a drop comes out. Yet when put into the Juiceman, we get a whole glassful!' What flows into that glass is pure life. When you get your copy of the Juiceman's Power of Juicing and you see Jay on the cover, you know that he immediately becomes your life partner, and by life partner I mean that he, and you, will make you into a young, fit, disease free human being.
Rating: Summary: A life changing book for me Review: This book along with Dr. Norman Walker's "Fresh Vegetabels and Fruit Juice" helped me begin my quest and desire to mostly eat and drink raw fruits and vegetables. Ten years ago as a first-year graduate student at UC Santa Barbara I found myself with an acne problem that had plagued me for the last 5 years, despite ingesting numerous antibiotics. Moreover, my eyes were beginning to tire easily. Then one day I stumbled upon this book by Dr. Walker which from the onset made complete sense to me. Around the same time I saw an infomercial advertising the Juiceman Jr. which I bought the next week (and it hasn't failed me since!), along with the "Power of Juicing" book and began a regimen of fresh juice three times a day, using many of the recipes and suggestions from both books. Some amazing things began to progess over the next year:! i) my acne not only completely disappeared, but I found myself having a very youthful, vibrant look. I looked better than I had ever in the past. ii) I lost 15 pounds in one year and became a star on the softball field. iii) I have not touched my reading glasses in the past 9 years. In the words of Jack Lalane (who is older and more fit than 99.99% of all other Americans) "If man made it, I don't eat it".One note on juicers: low-rpm juicers which press the juice now offer a nice alternative to the Juiceman or any other of the centrifugal juicers. They seem easier to clean and produce a higher yield of vitamins and less oxidation. I recommend Samson 6 in 1 juicer which has a 5 year warranty on the auger (like a drill bit which is used to press the juice) and a 10 year warranty on the motor. The revolution does not begin in the streets, but rather with a tall class of carrot and spinach!
Rating: Summary: A Mouth-watering Book Review: This book made me want to juice so much I just went out and purchased a juicer. It tells the reader all about the health benefits of juicing, the different kinds of nutrients in many fruits and vegetables, and why juicing is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. So many diseases can be prevented if people would just juice more and made an effort to have a diet rich in foods from the earth. If you want to learn about juicing and crave fresh fruit and vegetable juices, buy Jay Kordich's book.
Rating: Summary: This book is one for the ages! Review: This book will help you and your children to long lives, filled with vitality. The power of juicing is incredible. With the recipes in this book you will live a healthy life no doubt.
