Summary: Better Late Than Never!
Review: After 40 yrs of dieting (& gaining 200 lbs! in the process) this book has given me hope that nutrition is a major key to optimum health and weight. Jay helps us understand how most of our nutrients come from fresh, living plants not cooked (dead) food. It's not a big mystery now why I gained so much weight while dieting - my body was starving for nutrition among other things. Jay explains in detail why cooked food has very little nutritional value and how our bodies get so much more "bang for our buck" out of fresh fruits and vegetables. Great nutritional information as well as tasty juice and pulp recipes. Very informative - reviews most fruits and vegetables, their nutritional values and health promoting properties. Well-written, easy to understand, and packed with enthusiasm and encouragement. Keep up the great work Jay!

Summary: Delicious Recipes, Questionable Medicine
Review: As the satisfied owner of the product featured in the book, I am thankful for the often delicious recipes that Mr. Kordich included in this book. However, I don't believe a word of the psuedoscience behind his dietary maxims. Kordich describes juice combinations that will restore one's pancreas, liver or skin. I think that certified nutritionists would find these allegations questionable. Kordich instructs the juicing public not to mix fruit and vegetable juice (with a few exceptions) and to not mix melon juice with other fruits (like they would produce toxic gas or explode). The best advice is to use the juice as a tasty supplement to ensure decent nutrition, follow the recipes in "Power of Juicing," and read the rest for a laugh.

Summary: The book came with the juicer
Review: Granted, the book came with the Juiceman II I recently bought....but thank goodness! It has a wealth of info for a novice juicer, which not only contains many recipes, but breaks down into sections so that you can look up various fruits and vegetables to read about their healthful benefits and instructions on how to buy/store; also has sections on minerals (and which foods to juice to get them), and a list of various health ailments and the juices that help overcome them. These sections make it easy to look up the answers to the many questions you will have if you're new to juicing, as am I.
Try the fresh pineapple juice!! It's unbelieveably tasty!!

Summary: Yo yo yo fool The Rapper is back!
Review: Hey homles Street Rapper McGregor is back from The Ghetto jail over in the Atlanta. As soon as my holmeboy Noodles busted me out. And as soon as I got back I had to buy this book. The Juiceman's Power Of Juiceing is the dopest book I have ever read. Me and my posse in make Bannah ramma juice on the corner of 47th and 53rd. Noodles suggested it. I did once meet Jay Kordich. He is the freshest filpsest holmeboy on this side of New York. Yo yo fool catch yas on the flip side fool.

Summary: Health! - first priority.
Review: I bought the juiceman machine and this book came with it. I think it is great and even though he makes some claims that may be wishful thinking for certain cures, it still is a very healthy way to live and loose weight. An the juice recipes are delicious, way better than anything you can buy in a store. He's an inspiration to us all.

Summary: Fantastic Juiceing Reference
Review: I bought this book to use with my juicer. The references on the nutrients and benifits of individual fruits and vegetables is fantastic. When I had the flu I used parsley and garlic (the book references these as beneficial to the imune system) mixed with other non green vegetables (garlic and parsley are very strong) and I woke up the next day like I never had the flu with no medecine side effects. I also juiced watermellon with the rind as a thirst quencher after workouts - gatorade cannot match the hydrating effects of this one.
Granted Juicing can be a bit of work but even the benifits of one 8-10 oz. glass a day can be felt.
The book has many recepies, Jay's story, and much needed advice such as vegitable juice oxidizing to toxic levels in 24 hours. That's why you must consume your juice within a few hours, and V8 must be heated and pasturized nutrilizing most of the juice benifits.
Juicing can replace many vitamines and added enzymes people take and help your general health in so many ways. This book is well worth the price.

Summary: The Essence of Life....In Your Glass.
Review: I can't even begin to describe how wonderful this book is! While a few people have been quick to judge this book based on Jay Kordich's "lack" of any formal nutritional training don't let them fool you! Do you have to be a doctor to know a thing or two about the human body? You can go to a book store (or search here at Amazon!) and find enough books to make you smarter than any doctor alive! And even more signifigant is the "alternative medicine" movement that is booming thanks to "herbalists" and "specialists" who don't have Ph. D's. That said, this book is filled not only with fantastic recipies, but the heartwarming story of Jay's struggle to bring juicing into the mainstream. One writer even went so far as to say "he was cured of a disease he suspiciously neglects to mention"..well if this person read the book (including the back cover!) They would have found out that he survived a serious case of bladder cancer. Haven't we all heard of the stories where people have overcome crippling diseases where even doctors said there was no hope? Jay has, and juicing helped him get there....do your homework, LEARN ABOUT NUTRITION...and trust this book. I've been juicing steadily for about 3 years now and I'm in the best shape of my life, I've lost 20lbs and KEPT it off, I haven't had any major colds or illnesses for as long as I can remember and his knowledge of the human body and the effects of nutrients is top notch stuff. Medical science will never be able to explain all the properties available in plant matter. The properties of life are the most powerful essences on earth, and they are there for the taking...buy this book and put them into your body, you'll never be able to do anything better for yourself. Invest in you, the rewards are priceless.
