Summary: Pictures, please
Review: Great book, but no pictures. Would add substantial value to see what I'm about to make - especially when I want to be sure it's going to appeal to my little one.

Summary: Great recipes, needs pictures
Review: Great recipes, but pictures are especially useful when you're trying to get not only your toddler interested in eating it, but yourself interested in making it. Being a "busy parent", I find that it's easier for me to pick out something to make when a picture of a scrumptious meal jumps out at me. Having to read all the recipes to see if they'll appeal to the family is tiring.

Summary: A Real Lifesaver - Changed How My Family Eats for the BETTER
Review: I absolutely love that I found this book. Everynight I would toil over something easy and quick to make and always ended up with something frozen, coated in shake and bake and following with rice a roni or the like. Now, all has changed! Every recipe I've tried so far is remarkably easy and much healthier! A special note - my 16 month old LOVES the homemade chicken nuggets!!! Who knew wheat germ could taste so good?? I HIGHLY recommend this book for any family on the go, or anybody who doesn't want to spend all day in the kitchen! Oh, and the desserts and breads are sooooooo easy and very delicious!

Summary: Quick meals are great!
Review: I am a full time working mom of 2 kids under 3 and I found this cookbook to be a lifsaver...After having my daughter we were living off yogourt, cereal and sandwiches with my 2 year old son...I couldn't get him to try to eat anything that we would be eating.

I started to get really worried. I was a picky eater as a child, and still am, I have to admit. This book made great tasting recipes that both my son and I will EAT! They taste great and are healthy changes from out staples (peanut butter toast, and yogourts!!)

It is true that most of the meals start with staples (canned soups..biscuit mixes etc) but this is a QUICK cooking cookbook!! Who has time to make everything from scratch! I sure don't!! So if you are TRULY a busy mom...short on time...GET THIS BOOK! It will be a welcome addition to your colllection. If you are complaining about the pre-made items..Get a different book! You obviously have more time than most!

I also liked that it didn't have a lot of the low fat brands and products that we can't get here in Canada...so For all the fellow Canadian mom's out there...This one is a keeper! I haven't found a product that is used yet that we couldn't get here! BRAVO!!

Summary: Not a great book
Review: I bought this after reading the reviews here. I was looking for quick meals for families. I own many cookbooks. This was not worth the money.

One thing that really bothered me was one of the soup recipes starts with using a can of soup. I don't care for cookbooks that use canned soup to start a soup recipe. Why bother!

I think betty crocker offers better cookbooks for the money.

Summary: Not the healthiest recipies
Review: I don't mind using bisquick or jiffy mixes but packaged soup mixes and canned soup have so much sodium. I'd have preferred to see use of fresh ingredients, they don't take long to prepare.

Summary: Not for everyone.
Review: I have been searching for a cookbook full of family weeknight dinner ideas and healthy foods for toddlers. I'm still looking. Although there is some interesting stuff here, including some tasty dips and a yummy looking recipe for finger sized breaded chicken pieces, I have to say I'm not thrilled. I feel like I have a lot of similar recipes elsewhere in my cookbook collection. Also, I'm kind of a food snob and many of the recipes that I'd like to try are not made from scratch. For instance, there are instructions for enhancing a boxed cornbread mix with broccoli. I almost never use mixes in my baking or cooking. On the other hand, if you need some simple and fast recipes because you don't really like to cook then maybe this book is for you.

Summary: I love this cookbook!
Review: I have had this book for over a year now and have made and enjoyed almost every recipe. I admit at first I was disappointed that there were no pictures but I'm sure it makes the book more affordable. I love that they give side dish and dessert suggestions with every main dish (although I would appreciate a page number reference so I don't have to look each one up in the index). Our family favorite is the Hawaiian Chicken Breast. I also like the "Tools to Help You Get Started" section.

Summary: A Winner
Review: I have recently purchased several books with the same theme of making quick and easy meals, that are healthy and appeal to a wide varety of ages. This book has been the best of the three so far. I consider myself a good cook and other reviewers have critized the ingredients used in this book. True, the recipes do use some conveience items such as canned soup or baking mixes. But when I have just gotten home from work and want to prepare a decent meal quickly, I don't mind a few shortcuts. These shortcuts do not sacrifice taste. The recipes are easy to read, so the lack of pictures does not bother me either. It makes the book more affordable.

My only gripe with this book is the title. Don't expect all of these recipes to be done in 30 minutes or less. About a third require longer cooking or baking time. I save those for the weekends.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Very handy book for busy Moms.
Review: I haven't owned this one long but have already made several dishes. I especially like the Crispy Oven Drumsticks and the Taco Balls. The recipes are easy and kid-friendly without being loaded with fat, etc. I am very happy with this purchase.
