Summary: All about the children
Review: This book is great. I think what Don, and Deidre Imus do for these children is absolutely wonderful. I am a cancer survivor myself, so i can relate to the kids. I really feel what Don, and Deidre give back to the kids,is worth more then what the doctors can ever give. Helping these kids realize that they are somebody in the world is priceless in my eyes. Good for you Don, and Deidre. You really help give these kids something to believe in... Themselves.

Summary: After all it is for charity!
Review: You do need help like the ranch does to whip up some of the meals in the book. I bought it mainly to help the ranch in its work. If you want a good meal there are a lot of better books out there.

Summary: vegetarian cookbook for meat eaters???? infomercial
Review: Is there anything Imus won't do or say to sell books?

1. Vegetarian recipes rarely work when you add meat and sadly these recipes are no exceptions, despite what Imus keeps saying.

2. If Imus is really doing so much for sick kids, then great but why did he name it after himself and why did he make that poor injured little boy "get back on the horse" instead of getting him medical help?

3. Big-name guests and journalists are desperate to get on his show but now that he plugs this book r-e-l-e-n-t-l-e-s-s-l-y his show is unwatchable. It has become nothing but an infomercial.

He sounds like that former morning co-host on what's turned out to be a great show since her replacement with a younger (and talented) co-host.

True philanthropists don't name their good works after themselves. Please Imus: good work is one thing, but this book is yet another way to boost your name and ego.

Help the kids and not yourself!

Summary: Love and meaning
Review: So much anger and hate out there. When people attack a person Like Imus instead of just doing the same themselves they must be republicans. This is a great book and not self-serving. What Don and his wife do for these kids should make oneself proud in knowing that if the government won't do it than a fellow American will.

Summary: Imus Ranch cooking for kids and cowboys
Review: I found the recipes to be difficult for a busy lifestyle. Perhaps if one has the staff of the Imus ranch it would be easier. Also, after all the time spent, the entrees were dull and insipid.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: Even our own "pork-chop boy" should read this one.
It ain't the meat it's the love that is displayed
that make this book perfect.

(Not to mention the collector picture on page 12)

Summary: Helping our kids
Review: It is wonderful for children to receive the kind of respite from the harsh world of cancer treatment they experience at the Imus Ranch. A cancer diagnosis descends on them and their family often without warning, interupts their lives in such a difficult way, and robs them of their carefree days of their childhood. The Imus ranch endeavors to return some of those days to them. They so deserve it. As a mother of a young cancer survivor I was so grateful for any "good moment" my son experienced during his treatment. The parents of the kids who stay at the ranch must be very grateful for the many "good moments" their kids are given. Thank you.

Summary: Great Book, Very Inspiring, Share It With Your Kids
Review: Pictures, stories, ideas, recipes, All great!!! Makes me wish that I could take my 3 healthy children to the Ranch to show them what a work-driven, no TV, no junk-food, no video game, no over-stimulated life is like. The Imus Family and friends are doing a great thing for the kids they host, and this book is a great education on a life that many of us fail to live.

Summary: This book cooks!
Review: Beautiful, thoughtful, and inspiring. A must buy for anyone who likes the southwest (and I live in the Four Corners area, in Cortez, Colorado, so right in the heart). You'll love this book if you like kids, cowboys, good food, and great ideas. Thanks to Don and Deidre Imus for creating and sustaining the Imus Ranch and for all the wonderful things you've done. I'm a big fan of your Imus in the Morning show, Don, on MSNBC -- we can't get you on the radio here, so don't go off the air on MSNBC! You know I have to be a fan since you're on at 4 AM here...

Summary: Outstanding Book
Review: This book is a wonderful accomplishment, as is the Imus Ranch. These children, who have been dealt a horrible blow; a terrible illness in the prime of their youth, are given an opportunity to be treated normal for a brief period. While medical science treat their bodies and parents comfort them with love, the tangible reality of the Imus Ranch treat the psyche of these young people with respect, a sense of accomplishment and the opportunity to regroup and realize that their may just be a normal life waiting for them at the end of their long, painful tunnel.

Don & Deirdre Imus could very easily do what many accomplished, wealthy people do; write a check and retire to their lavish lifestyle. But, they don't. They tirelessly give of themselves to make the lives of others better. Their is a special place in Heaven for people like them. We could all learn from their lead.

Bravo!!
