Summary: Right on Target Advice!
Review: "In my own life I always pray for guidance as I choose my goals," writes Ziglar. In the margin I dated it and wrote "I do too." This book contains so much rich, practical, doable wisdom, not wonder it's a classic for achievers. Persistence leads to desired results. He quotes Robert Collier in making the point when he noted, "Success is the sum of small efforts--repeated day in and day out."

Ziglar talks about seeing one's self in the mind's eye as a prelude to accomplishment. "I dreamed overy forty years ago that I would be traveling the world, making speeches to every conceivalbe kind of group. I literally saw myself in front of vast audiences making those talks," he tells us.

On feeding success mentally, he reminds us of the necessity to surround ourselves with people who are going to edify us. He adds, "read good books." This is one such good book. Read it!

Summary: so what if hes christian?
Review: a very ignorant thing to do would be to exclude everything he has to say because he would cite the bible or jesuses teachings. given alot of people are christian, alot of people dont mind. i myself am not christian, im a setian, however it doesnt mean that even when he cites the bible, what he has to say isnt valid or doesnt hold water.

get over yourself and listen to what he has to say. itll do you some good, might even learn something.

Summary: A message for Andrew Diamond
Review: Dear "Jesus save me from Zig",

Why should the other reviewers have to disclose their faith? That is absolutely ridiculous!!! Christians have the same rights to free speech that other religious groups so freely enjoy without having to put up with that kind of discrimination. If you directed that sort talk to any other group than Christians your review would be considered discriminatory towards the group and potentially racist if the group was predominately of one ethnic background such as muslims or jewish people and in fact it probably wouldn't even get posted. Who do you think you are saying these people have to disclose their religious beliefs? They don't!!! And by the way, it's not as if they are trying to hide it. You make it sound like a right wing conspiracy. Why do you even care? It's obvious this book is written for people who can appreciate motivational speaking and the benefits of a positive mental attitude from a person as successful as Zig Ziglar. I bet your life is just teaming with accomplishments... This book is for people who have the ability to respect other people and their beliefs. I can't even believe that your review got posted!

People like you want free speech as long as it's not from a Christian or conservative point of view. People like you want no discrimination but you discriminate against Christians. People like you want to save whales, spotted owls and bambi but reserve the right to kill an unborn child if it's not convenient to have a child at that point in their life. Do you even realize what a double standard you have? You and your kind want free speech but don't want to hear about anything that goes against your liberal way of life.

Summary: Over the Top
Review: Each Christmas, I give a copy of a book to each of my nieces and nephews. This year they will get Over the Top by Zig Ziglar. My hopes are that they read them now. If not, they will have a library of the best books to guide them through life. This is one of them.

Summary: Great book, recommend it to anyone
Review: Great motivational and inspirational book. Zig has come up with a lot of good ideas to help those confused or depressed, or just need a little more inspiration! After the first initial chapters, some of Zig's messages seem to appear repeating itself, but nevetheless, still a must read for anyone who needs to pump up their life a bit.

Summary: Definatly worth the money.
Review: I bought this book at a book fair at my job and was reasonably impressed. Mr Ziglar definatly knows how to motivate people, and help with self esteem. One great example from the book is an assistant of his who was afraid of public speaking. She had to run a presentation for Mr. Ziglar once when he was late. At first she was really upset, but once she did it she loved it. She later became a sales trainer for one of the largest cosmetics companies in the country.
He also goes into changing jobs and being positive. Like when you talk about your job you say "I work for xyz company, and let me tell you about this great guy I work for". As opposed to "Man that guy never liked me and they keep taking benefits away". This may seem like common sense, but i like the fact that Mr Ziglar examines a fact that many business leaders don't want to admit. Bosses know when they are shafting you but don't want to hear it ( 90% of the time)even if they ask for input. An interviewer knows that if you loved your job you would probably not be leaving, so you need a good exuse, such as no further room for growth, needing a new challenge, or relocating if the 2 companies are far enough apart.
One final point about the book i would like to make is this. Mr. Ziglar gives a bonus in this book. He tells you the one book that just about every single one of the CEO's of the top companies in the country have read. This book is the bible. I like the fact that in today's politically correct society that we live in that there is a author that seems the love and faith in god as paramount to someone's success. A nice statistic is that 80% of the CEO's of those same companies admit to being either christian or jewish. A faith in the man upstairs can definatly be beneficial to your carrear. Happy reading and God bless you and God bless America

Summary: Jesus save me from Zig!
Review: I bought this expecting motivational insights a la Earl Nightingale, but instead I get a sermon I could hear in any fundamentalist church. I think the other reviewers should have to state their religious beliefs as part of the review process. I bet all the 5 star reviewers are Born Agains.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Powerful Concepts
Review: I don't have much to say about the book other than it is one I would make a reading requirement for all my students if I was a teacher. Great chapter on Goal Setting. Zig Ziglar is a wonderful facilitator of knowledge dedicated to living a well balanced life.
