Summary: Balanced biblical instruction to help prevent abuse
Review: These guys know what they are talking about. In terms that are germane to what really happens in our relationships with other people, Henry Cloud and John Townsend map out the destructive ways we often relate to others as well offering plausible and holy ways to rectify them.

It is not a "feel-good" book however, but it is the most practical and insightful book om human realtionships that I have ever read. Applying the principles in the book brings on emotional and spiritual progress for sure, and without fail draws one closer to the heartbeat of God.

If only more authors could cut through to the heart of the matter like these guys have done in their books!

Summary: This book will change your life.
Review: This book is full of life-changing material. It teaches you about discernment and how to break the cycle of bad relationships. Since it is based on Biblical principles, it gives you a framework on which to build relationships. I read it along with the workbook as part of a Bible study a couple of years ago and it made a tremendous impact on my life. I recommend this book to anyone I meet who is having any kind of relationship problem - either with their friends or their family. It is excellent!

Summary: SHOULD BE REQUIRED READING BY THE 18 YEAR OF AGE
Review: This book is written so well, so clear, and so boldly that one leaves it having gained a new confidence in choosing healthy relationships. These authors are straight forward and to the point, and write with no room for "sissyness". For example, they clearly point out the things you may be doing to contribute to the "drooping" state of your relationships. (Otherwise, you wouldn't be reading this review. A workbook for the paperback edition is also available.) I regret that the rating only goes up to ten, as this book DESERVES a 20 out of ten. If you are an adult or almost an adult, then you are required to (I can't REALLY order you to but I wish I could) read this. This book is THAT GOOD and it's message THAT IMPORTANT! Order it yesterday!

Summary: A Must Read
Review: This book will change the way you choose friends. If you are someone who tends to end up surrounded by needy and/or destructive people this book will help you see why and how to change that. It has really helped me see people different and make better choices.

Summary: Life Changing!!!
Review: This is a book everyone should read. It can be life changing if while you are reading it you ask yourself, "am I a safe person?" It takes you through the characteristics of an unsafe person, a safe person, how to become a safe person, and then what to do with unsafe relationships you already have. You need to look at safe people from both sides - are your friends safe, and are you safe?

Summary: Forever Changed!
Review: This is one of those books you wished you had read years ago. It could have saved a lot of heart-ache. Wonderful wisdom is shared in this straight-forward book. Now that I can see how relationships work in a little different light, I will never be the same or look at a relationship quite the same. I can't recommend this book highly enough.

Summary: fabulous
Review: we had this book at my campus ministery at usf Crosswinds and it is a fabulous book. It is like a 20-oz steak to chew on and digest. Praying through this book has been a immense help to me and i have been recommending it to all my friends. This should have 5 stars but the thing glitched.

Summary: Excellent Book!
Review: While this is a Christian based book, complete with helpful scriptural references, it is also a relationship book that can be very, very helpful for any relationship. This is coming from someone who had never read a relationship/dating book before. I learned a lot about myself, and my relationships. I believe that most people who read this will have the lightbulbs going off when they read about certain relationship qualities, and will be able to pinpoint certain people in their lives who fit the particular mold. It teaches you how to look for better relationships (whether friends, family or otherwise) and be a better person yourself. I have picked up Boundaries, and a couple other books from these authors, and am looking forward to getting time to read them.
