Rating: Summary: The way we should all eat Review: This is a very interesting take on what Jesus might have eaten on a daily basis. The biblical references make it interesting, but I did not feel like much more research was done. I would suggest this book to anyone interested in knowing more about how to eat healthier.
Rating: Summary: The Best Diet Book I've Ever Read! Review: This is without doubt the most balanced, most motivational diet book I've ever read. If you're tired of fad and celebrity diets, this is the ultimate authoritative guide. Colbert does a great job marrying the content of the Bible with modern, scientific research. Surprise: They don't contradict one another. Some of the negative reviews I've read here make me wonder if people read the book at all! If they did, they missed the whole point. The premise is this. If Jesus was God -- and he is -- then he ought to know what is best for his ceation. His views on food and eating should supercede anything we have been taught by mere mortals. First, Colbert points out an obvious fact. Jesus was an Orthodox Jew. He would have followed the Old Testament dietary laws to the letter. Beyond that, the New Testament has a great deal to say about what Jesus actually ate, since so much of first century social life was centered around food. To this, Colbert, adds the latest research on food and the impact it has on your health. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is tired of fad diets and wants a lifestyle diet that is healthy -- and sustainable.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: What an excellent way of eating! I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to eat the healthy way.
Rating: Summary: What would Jesus eat Review: What would Jesus eat is an excellent book on foods that were eatten when Jesus walked on earth. Today these same foods are powerhouses of nutrition and wonderful to the taste. What can be better than to know you are eating foods that were meant to keep your body funtioning well; like Whole grain breads, olive oil, figs, fresh fruit and vegatables, fresh clean water.... there is so many more foods to read about. I've already began changing some of my preferances.

Rating: Summary: FOOD FOR THE SOUL...AND YOUR BODY. Review: What would Jesus eat? Well, it definitely wasn't "Moma-Mia's pizza", "Greasy Joe's burgers", or nuked cardboard containers filled with overcooked, under-valued processed...food(?) Have you ever noticed, that all those microwaved containers seem to taste the same; the only difference is the colour of the sauce. Readers will find not only thought-provoking references from the Scriptures throughout this book, but some interesting facts leading to a more nutritious way of eating and a healthier lifestyle. This book can be likened to "getting back to the basics" - good food based on fish, olive oil, grains, etc. Enjoy the red wine; in moderation, it is actually good for you. I enjoyed the book for the easy to follow weekly eating guide and some of the anecdotes proved to be "food for the soul." This is an excellent book, particularly for those who want to nourish body soul at the same time. There is something to be said for eating in a time when dinner was more than a quick trip to the nearst fast food outlet and nourishing our soul was not a trend, but a way of life.

Rating: Summary: Finally! The Truth about food! Review: When God created the human body in His image, He also created an earth full of food/fuel for keeping the body in optimum condition and good health. The information in this book is SO practical and obvious yet goes against the modern all-American diet which is proving more and more to be the cause behind the deterioration of health in most people. Dr. Colbert has put together a simple plan in a well organized and researched format that is fully supported in Scripture. I highly recommend this very useful and applicable book to anyone wanting to not only achieve a greater sense of well being and health, but also for those looking for the original design in maintaining their bodies! It is the plain truth!
Rating: Summary: what would jesus eat Review: Without a doubt, the most honest and best diet book ever written.
Rating: Summary: An excellent addition to the WWJ___? franchise! Review: You've bought the bracelet and the t-shirt. You've sold off the SUV and bought a donkey. You've replaced your Italian leather dress shoes with a nice pair of Birkenstocks. The only thing still wrong with you is your diet. Here's your answer: What Would Jesus Eat? It's all here: loaves, fishes, red wine. As a bonus, the recipes are designed for you to handle any occasion, from intimate dinners with your inner circle of friends to feeding the masses. There's even a section about how to survive a 40-day fast in the desert. (I love the title of that chapter: "WWJE? Nothing!") Bon appetite!
