Rating: Summary: A Perfect Book for a College Freshman.... Review: Read this as young as you can, because it will set the tone of your life. But its never too late to recognize the power of right thinking! I owe the majority of my success to this book.
Rating: Summary: Is the appeal more in the title than the content? Review: Much of the appeal is from the title and using the word power in my view. The book is essentially an invitation to become a Christian. The Bible itself is a better basic book for that it seems to me. The book could possibly be retitled The Power of Christian Thinking. Parts of The Power of Positive Thinking are excellent yet many parts are full of fluff (spiritual-psycho babble) in my view.
Rating: Summary: Life Changing, Magnificent! Review: I discovered this book while cleaning out a storeroom in 1978. I was so enthralled by the words that I began to read, and two hours later, while sitting in the same spot, I had finshed it! I have since read other works by this great man. Each time I read it, I come away with more... This is THE guidebook for living in the world and although written in 1952, the advice and concepts are as practical today as ever... Ageless and timeless, this book is a treasure..5 great big stars!
Rating: Summary: Practical, Christian advice for those who doubt themselves. Review: I would recommend this book to anyone who has ever experienced self-doubt. Not only does it give good practical advice but also plenty of anecdotal evidence of its successful application. The advice it tenders is of inestimable value to those seeking help in their personal life.
Rating: Summary: Stops to soon Review: Although the book makes a good point that we can choose to overcome difficult circumstances, rather than be ruled by them, Peale stops to soon.Peale talks how a man's life is changed by trusting in God.. I wish he would have elabrated. He also talks about meeting a group of people who he found amazing happy, who simply told him it was becuase of their relationship with God... he didn't go on much after that. In one chapter Peale talks about how a man's need for forgivness (from God and man) was at the heart of his troubles..and talks about the importance of confession, but stops before discussing getting right with God, and making up to the people hurt. I recommend the book "How to Live Like a Kings Kid" by Harold Hill which has Peales's postive attitude but goes the extra mile.. beyond the natural. It is actually more fascinating than Peale's book due to the amazing results (supernatural even) the author obtained, in dealing with life's difficulties.
Rating: Summary: Required reading for anyone, of any age, anytime! Review: This was a book that fell into my lap during a period of crisis in my life. Dr. Peale's unfaltering Faith allows him to convey the simple equation to happiness in life through inspirational first hand knowledge. Regardless of your background, upbringing, age, economic standing, career path, or hardships in life, "The Power of Positive Thinking" can quite literally alter the way you think forever.
Rating: Summary: A Life-Changer!!! Review: For someone just being introduced to the powers of the human mind, this book can be a life-changer! It's required reading on the Millionaire University Booklist and a favorite among visitors to the Networkers Niche!
Rating: Summary: Adds a silver line Review: The book already seems to help me in a lot of my personal problems. It espescially is amazing in channeling your thought process and wow! it really is a beautiful world in which we all live. Thanx to the author for adding that what was missing in my life- 'a thoughtful person'.
Rating: Summary: The Power of Positive Thinking Review: I carry this book in my pocketbook at all times. I read and re-read it almost everyday coming and going to work. It is very inspirational and there is so much knowledge in it. I read it so much because I actually want it to become a part of my life. I call it my Bible away from home. Thank you.
Rating: Summary: The Power of Postitive Thinking, by Norman Vincent Peale Review: The most inspiring book I have ever read. A must read for everyone. Okay, if you read the first few pages and aren't enthused, wait a couple of months and try reading it again. I know that you will be more than glad that you did. That is the way it happened to me, and reading 'The Power of Postive Thinking' changed my life. I now own most of the books written by N.V.Peale. I am looking forward to getting the few books that I don't have that were written by him.
