Rating: Summary: Absolutely powerful and insightful! Review: Mrs. Vanzant is the first female author that has captured the absolute sense of my soul. She has touched my life by simply sharing her intimate story. For me, "Yesterday, I Cried," had an even more powerful impact via audiobook. Her rich, soothing voice, so powerful and sensitive enabled it's way to my inner most self and caused me to reflect on what was going on in my life. At times things in life can seem unbearable. Some common situations we can all relate. Mrs. Vanzant has taught me that life and it's circumstances is about CHOICES. We have two choices in life. For me, I prefer do deal with life with my glass half FULL.
Rating: Summary: Spoken Truth!!!! Review: This being the third Iyanla book I have read, I was not disappointed. I am in my mid 20's and living single thanks to God and the inspirational words Iyanla shares. Up until 6 months ago I was looking for love to make my life complete and to fill a void. I wanted someone to take away the pain of my childhood. Instead I found myself and the love and life I want. I learned how to clean up the crap and live my life for me. Thanks Iyanla.
Rating: Summary: Truly Divinely Inspired Review: I think we all are given lessons when we are ready for them, and when we will be able to listen. I am so glad that although I bought this book, and "One Day My Soul Just Opened Up", that I read this book first. It really helped me, and put me in a place where I could better understand the other book. This book made me cry and grow so many times. It is an absolutely wonderful, and divinely inspired book. Pick it up if you can.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Book Review: Anyone enjoying Vanzant's book will equally appreciate THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE. Vanzant's books are marvelous for anyone looking for more joy in life.
Rating: Summary: This book has opened up my heart and soul Review: This book is the most powerful book that any young girl or woman can read. I learned by reading this book that you have to love yourself, before you can let other people love you. This book not only let to me to love myself, but to respect myself. If also let me me know that men are not your best solutions to being loved and getting loved. I love myself and I'm trying my best to get to know myself and be by myself.
Rating: Summary: I think the book was wonderful. Review: I think "Yesterday I Cried" was the best book i've ever read. At different parts in the book, I felt like Iyanla knew what had been going on in my life. I think all women can relate to a lot of things she was speaking on pertaining to men. Some of us do not love ourselves yet we are jumping from one relationship to another and not understanding why it isn't working. This book helped me to understand why somethings are like they are in my life at the present time.It also helped me to do some soul searching and to start putting God first in my life. I think every woman should read this book along with "Finding Yourself and the Love You Want". I read both of these books in four days. That's how involved I was. I felt Iyanla's pain just like I would feel my own.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful & Inspiring Review: I bought this book yesterday and I read it cover to cover before I went to bed. Then I, like Iyanla, "cried with an agenda". She helped me to realize that you can heal your emotional wounds no matter what they are.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Refreshing! Review: This book is one of the best I have ever read. It has opened my heart to realize more about ordinary life than I do. I can relate to some parts and feel her disappointments about the others. Her experience and insight has enhanced my views about the power to heal from within with the help of God. This is a must read.
Rating: Summary: Truly Outstanding Review: I have always been very astounded by Iyanla's tribute to life, commitment to truth and desire for love. She has truly opened up in such a clear and focused way, that it allows others to do the same. Even if she has told many of the stories again as we all have, one ounce of relevation that one finds to change and to love goes a million ways. If you know someone who can benefit after reading pass it on, but I have found it a book to back to again. Just wonderful and a blessing!!!!
Rating: Summary: Inspiring, down to earth, articulate. Review: Iyanla Vanzant is an articulate and self-revealing writer of rare humanity and feminine insight. Yesterday, I Cried is a must read for any "survivor" of *any* color.
