Summary: The Diva Principle
Review: I bought the book strictly for the title. However, when I started reading it, I quickly found a highlighter and starting marking it up from page to page! The information here is both timely and valuable. Unfortunately for many women we have lost the art of being divine women. So many unrealistic or unattainable expectations have been put upon us and yet the vast majority of us still have a heartfelt desire to be "divas"! I have spent the last 15 yrs of my life teaching and instructing women in living life. This book will definitely be apart of my reference library.

Summary: You think you got it together, huh?
Review: This book will help you get your life together if you don't have it together or it will help you have a better grip on life if you already have one. I love how she takes women of the bible and explains in detail their weaknesses and strengths. She also talks about cooking, finances, and much more. It's definitely a must have for the Proverbs 31 woman or a Proverbs 31 in the making!

Summary: Are You a Diva?
Review: What is a Diva? Michelle McKinney Hammond takes us back in time to answer this question. In her acrostic, DIVA stands for Divine Inspiration for Victorious Attitude and The Diva Principle explores several Diva's in the bible. These are women who personify humanness as well as possessing divine qualities. Women who we should choose to emulate on our faith walk.

The Diva Principle examines nine women in the bible. Some of these women I had peripheral knowledge of so it was good to have this book explain their lives in greater detail. Each character study is an in depth look at their strengths, weaknesses and the touch that made each one a diva. Ruth, for example is praised for her strength during loss and her ability to recover and prosper gracefully. She gladly stays with her mother-in-law after the death of her husband and dedicates her life to caring for her. She didn't go back to her country where they worship idols. Her reward is a caring husband who provides for her and her former mother-in-law as if she is his own mother. Ruth's initial vow is simple: Where you go, I will go and your god will be my God. Other women in the bible were highlighted with the intent of uncovering their attitude of quiet but powerful strength no matter what the situation.

The Diva Principle is a self-esteem builder for women. The problems that we as women face today are cloaked in modern situations, and although some things might be difficult don't let this be a deterrent for success. The Diva Principle also serves as an instruction manual on how to live a Godly life. The examples of women found in the Bible should be the pattern for our attitude or in this case, diva-tude.

Summary: The DIVA In You
Review: When you think of the word DIVA what do you think of? Do you think of someone who is overconfident, conceited and thinks it's all about them? Or do you think of someone who has their head on straight and knows what they want out of life and will do whatever it takes to achieve their goals? In THE DIVA PRINCIPLE by Michelle McKinney Hammond we take a look into the spiritual aspect of being a diva, striving for what God has in store for our life. The synopsis is that every woman is a diva. It's just a matter of getting in touch with our inner self to bring the diva in us to fruition. Hammond teaches women how to get their heart, act and life together by taking divas from the Bible and putting their stories into modern day principles that are easy to apply to our everyday lives. She emphasizes their strengths as well as their weaknesses and delves into what it is that makes them a diva. At the end of each chapter there are: diva confessions, which is a positive affirmation; diva do's and don'ts, which allow us to know exactly what a diva should and shouldn't do, for example "Do not seek to control, manipulate, or cause others to be dependent on you. This weakens you both in the long run" and finally there are div-otions which includes a scripture and a prayer. As a special bonus included at the end of the book is a diva-licious week of recipes to whet your diva appetite.

Inspiring, motivating and spiritually uplifting THE DIVA PRINCIPLE is indeed a must have for every woman no matter what their ethnicity. Striving to be the best you can be is essential to every woman's happiness. Live your life according to God's will and undoubtedly your life will be filled with joy and happiness. Reading this book has caused me to delve deep within my soul in search of the diva in me. If you have never thought of yourself as a diva pick up this book and find the diva in you.
