Summary: An inspirational read!
Review: I found this book to be a great read. I'm an eating disorder sufferer and this is one book that I was able to read that gave me hope and not the "tricks of the trade." It was not full of weight and triggers, but a story that ended in recovery. Some reviews have recommended Wasted by Marya Hornbacher; although this was a well written book, it is a horrible read for anyone that suffers from eating issues. It is full of triggers and leaves her sick at the end of the book. For a more inspirational read that leaves you with the feeling of hope, read this book.

Summary: Encouraging
Review: I have never suffered from anorexia/bulimia, however, this book was very encouraging because you can apply this disease to any disorder and there is hope. I suffer from depression and anxiety. I can apply this book to that. I could not put the book down. Life is a battle and you must fight to overcome your struggles with anorexia/bulimia, depression or anxiety attacks. Great job Cindy! The book is excellent!

Summary: Do not read this book!
Review: I have read numberous books on eating disorders, from clinical manuals to personal accounts - this book is up there with the worst of them. I forced myself to finish reading it because I couldn't believe how bad it was. Poor grammar, and an author who continually cried "woah is me" was bad enough but for anyone who struggles with an eating disorder this book is very triggering. I understand personal accounts of eating disorders can be triggering, but this was a long, drawn out self-pity waste of time. As a recovering anorexic I felt that this book did not portray the personal struggles of eating disorders accurately at all.
I give the author credit for telling her story, as it is a very difficult thing to do. I hesitated to write a review because I did not want to offend the author, but truthfully her editors should have played a more integral role in her book.

Summary: THE BEST BOOK ON THE TOPIC YET!!!
Review: I have struggled with an eating disorder for sixteen years now, and have read just about every book that has come along on the subject. I cannot recommend this book highly enough to anyone who has known the pain & destruction of an eating disorder. Unlike many other personal narratives I have read over the years, I found the author was able to describe her illness in graphic detail, without creating a triggering 'how to' manual or 'glorifying' eating disorders. I am in awe of her writing because I could feel her pain - she was vividly honest in exposing the reality of eating disorders. I am truly inspired by her courage. She was on the brink of death, and in the depths of despair - and yet somehow she found the strength within herself to keep fighting and not give up.
I would love to meet Ms. Nappa Bitter and shake her hand, give her a big hug - and thank her for sharing her difficult journey with the world in her autobiography. She has given me some motivation to keep striving for my goals.
I hope Cindy, her husband - and CORBY(?) the "aging golden retriever", are enjoying the best of health & happiness today.

Summary: I COULDN'T PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!
Review: I purchased and read this book at a time when I needed someone and something to inspire me. GOOD ENOUGH was so uplifting. I've never known of someone so determined in their ability to overcome such overwhelming and deadly illnesses. Cynthia showed me that there is always hope, and that with faith and believing in myself that I, too, could overcome my own struggles. Although, I personally have not had an eating disorder, I know of others who have had unhealthy eating behaviors. This book has helped me become more aware that eating issues should not be used as a means of controlling other things or other people in our lives. Cynthia N. Bitter is a true Godsend and an inspiration to us all. I wish that her book could just go on and on as I found it so EMPOWERING. I say HATS OFF TO CYNTHIA N. BITTER. SHE IS A WOMAN THAT I TRULY ADMIRE!!!

Summary: Good Enough
Review: I'm the mom of Cindy Bitter author of "Good Enough". Cindy did an outstanding job in portraying the struggles she endured with anorexia/bulimia throughout her life. To all you parents or family members who has a loved one struggling with any disorder help them to get the proper care. Love them unconditionally and give them your utmost support. I thank God every day for allowing me to see Cindy leading a happy, healthy life with a profession today helping others.

Summary: A true-story that is saving my life to this day. Tnx, Cindy
Review: This book is a true-story about the turmoil of living and dying from anorexia nervosa and bulimia. This book shows a real-life day to day, year to year struggle with eating disorders. It is amazing to me that after enduring so much pain and hardship the author is now living happily and healthily. I was ready to give up until I read Cindy's book. I believe she is godsent and I'm chosing to live because I have new hope because of her. Anybody recovering or struggling or who knows someone with an eating disorder should read this book now. Summary: Overcoming a terrible disease
Review: This book is impossible to put down. In the end, she wins. The most likeable part of the book - she survives and she wins. So, many eating disorder memoirs end with no closure. Which makes for a very depressing read. Only complaint, the writing style is a bit immature for the subject, I recommend "Wasted" by Marya Hornbacher if you are looking more for a book that really describes how the disease gets started, the kind of book that will have you reading it with a highlighter pen nearby.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Bad one
Review: This book was awful. THe author is a bad writer in general. Also, as you can tell from her scary emaciated grin on the back of the book, she is NOT recovered. This means that she cannot distance herself from her disorders and therefore can't really write about them well. There is a tinge of smugness in her account, like, "Look how thin I am, I just CAN'T eat." It's boring and it's about a really lame person...she is incapable of living her life at all. She still lived with her parents for the majority of her life.
