Rating: Summary: Please Stop Laughing at Me... Review: Please Stop Laughing at Me... is one of the best books I have ever read. It can really help our schools with their problems with bullying. As a child Jodee was one of the most popular girls in school. Everyone weanted to be like her. As she got older she started acting more mature. The kids weren't sure how to respond to that. So, they would always pick on her. All through school she was always called names and was always getting beat up.This shows that kids being their "normal" selves isnt always the best, it can lead to mental and physical harm.
Rating: Summary: Adara Jane's Review Review: please stop laughing at me was a very emotional book..it is very hard to believe that kids so little can be so cruel. When you read this book you try to put yourself in her shoes..and you can.maybe your life wasnt so harsh, but anyone can relate to being picked on..when the kids at her bestfriends birthday party when they were all playing spin the bottle and most of them having their first sexual experience with the oppisite sex..you can relate to that because everyone remember there first kiss.
this book is a very inspiration book and i would recommend it to anyone..you never no someone till you listen to there story..
Rating: Summary: What Can I Say that Hasn't Been Said? Review: This book did very little to inspire me. I tried (HONEST!) to feel compassion for Ms Blanco, but couldn't. When you are bullied, you do not go out of your way to attract negative attention.I SPEAK FROM EXPERIENCE.
I am sorry, but I had trouble mustering up any kind of sympathy for Blanco. She tried to portray herself as a victim, but she was simply annoying. How many schools did this girl attend? I lost count!
This book is going into the donation pile...
Rating: Summary: ADULTS, GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I really wished I had read some of the reviews before purchasing this horrible book. It is poorly written and very unrelatable to anyone who has been bullied. I would not recommend this for anyone seeking advice on how to deal with bullies. I actually found myself "rooting" for the bullies by the time I had finished this book.
Rating: Summary: Stop whining already Review: In August Jodee Blanco came to our school and gave a summary of basiclly the book. I decided I would read it, but as I did. I decided that I was one of those bullies, she would have had it way worse. She goes to like 4 different schools and is popular in the beggining and then manages to screw up repeatedly. Why does she hang with the mentals? Why does she call her mom at the slut's party???? [...] She goes to her reunion and everyones all nice to her. WTF??? When she came to our school. she was like "Go up to somebody and let them sit with you" We made fun of her for weeks.
