I love you for sharing your experneces with the world. I have a long way to go to get to true divine growth. now I know that because my life started out badly does not mean it had to end badly! I am now reading one day my soul just opened up. and it is great to everyday forcus on myself. not my kids, my job, or husband but me. I look at a sunset or sunrise and I know that the energy that cause that to happen is in me! was an awesome reality! and that God loves me, talking about having pull in high places! Rating: Summary: Comparable to Louise Hay's "You Can Heal Your Life" Review: Very good. I checked it out from the library, read the first chapter and bought the book. Works hand-in-hand with Louise Hay's book "You Can Heal Your Life". I read both daily and do the exercises. Working (and I do mean working) with both of these books has been beneficial to me. These are books I keep learning from every time I open them. I hope they help you as much as they have helped me. They have answered so many of my questions on everything from spirituality and how to love yourself, to how to recognise and overcome self-defeating habits. Like good books, they make you think and raise as many questions as they answer (or more!).
Rating: Summary: A helpful guide to unleach your spirituality Review: Like most of Iyanla's books, this one is once again a book that encompasses the whole spectrum of our lives. It has interesting points and observations with practical applications for every one to use. Very inspirational. Another book along these same lines which has helped me tremdously and really works, and is inspirational and practical is Dietmar Scherf's "I Love Me: Avoiding and Overcoming Depression" which is also sold at Amazon.
Rating: Summary: This is such an amazing book !! Review: I can't say enough about this woman or the books I have read by her. She truly has a gift and is an amazing inspiration.
Rating: Summary: OUTSTANDING! Review: Really was moving and an inspiration to me. Helped me understand myself and both men and women better. Combined spiritual issues with everyday in a way that was very helpful. Some of what she says reminds me of what I read in another great book. Working on Yourself Doesn't Work, by Ariel and Shya Kane. If you liked Iyanla's Book you would like the Kane's book too. They explain that the title is a Paradox. The more you try to work on yourself, to fix yourself, the more you get stuck. Your spiritual self opens up when you simply live in the NOW and stop trying to change yourself. But there still is a vigilance and self-awareness you need to practice.
Rating: Summary: Empowers me as a woman Review: My soul opened up when I read Iyanla's latest book. What a gift she is! I've never felt better and more at peace with myself. Another meditation book that's been extremely helpful to me is SOUL SATISFACTION by Elizabeth Rankin Geitz. Her brief, daily meditations were a great companion to Iyanla's. Both books have empowered me beyond words as a woman and have changed my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Rating: Summary: Regular spiritual practice...the ultimate "Brain-Tonic"!! Review: In researching "The Care and Feeding of Your Brain" I came across and reviewed many scientific studies demonstrating the brain benefit of regular spiritual practice. Recent evidence shows that even once-a-week practice is good for bodily health but the real results come from daily practice. If you don't already have a daily practice (and I am not talking about once-a-week church, synagogue, or other service. I recommend it highly. Regular spiritual practice WILL change your brain, and that WILL change your health, and that WILL make permanent and positive changes in your life...All the best to Rev. Vanzant for providing a wonderful method of taking the reader by the hand in establishing a regular spiritual practice...She's not only an excellent writer but shows she's a genuine spiritual leader...Kenneth Giuffre MD, author, "The Care and Feeding of Your Brain"
