Rating: Summary: Utter Garbage Review: I just want to warn everyone about this book. I have read every wrestler autobiography from Dynamite Kid and Lou Thesz to Mick Foley and the Rock to Arn Anderson and Ted DiBiase. This is by far the worst. The people who are praising this book largely know nothing about wrestling, or are working for WCW. Page, who had problems reading as a kid, clearly does not understand what an autobiography is. It is meant to be a glimpse into the life of a star. This is 450 boring pages of propaganda, where he tries to get you believe he is the greatest human being in the history of humanity. There is not one negative word spoken about him from anyone in any context. He is unwilling to admit to any faults. He even has this guy right with him who is like his childhood friend, and this guy adds third person narratives about Page that are like "Page was a tremendous basketball talent who friends thought could make it all the way" or "Everyone knew Page had what it took to win the world title" that are written as if they are objective and third person from someone else, when it is clearly just Page talking about he is too embarassed to be so self-serving in the first person. Worse yet, the story does not focus on what wrestling fans care about. A good 200 pages is devoted to pre-wrestling. Not a word is interesting. It isn't even a collection of anecdotes like Foley that are amusing. It is just a boring repetition of what happened in his life with no insight. The place you'd be most interested in, his last 3 or 4 years, is glazed over. He criticizes no one or nothing. He exagerrates things and makes remarks that makes me think he takes everyone who reads the book for an idiot. ("Road Wild 99 was a tremendous success, the highest outdoor attendance for a wrestlings show that year"....hmmm...out of....1) There is no insight at all, and he seems to tell half the stories just to make himself look good. (he has every friend or associate he can find add third person praise of him, and even devotes a chapter to people saying how he really isn't self-serving, despite what you've been reading for 400 pages) Worst of all, he has this stupid analogy for his life as a yo-yo (you know...it goes up and down). Fine. An analogy for his life would be fine....but HE REPEATS SOMETHING ABOUT "THE YO-YO" ON EVERY SINGLE PAGE. That is only a slight exagerration. There have to be at least 200 yo-yo references. It is unbelievably repetitive. I am writing this solely because I care about the people who might buy this book. I don't want you to waste your money. I love wrestling. I've been reading the Observer since I was 13. YOU DO NOT WANT THIS BOOK. Please. Trust me. You'll thank me.
Rating: Summary: positively Page Review: This is an excellent story of a rags to riches tale. The foremat and presentation is outstanding and holds the readers intrest even if he has no interest in wrestling. I predict that any knowledgeable movie producer could create a box office hit if they would review this book and its main cast of chacters. Larry Genta should be comended for his great tallent used to create this excellent story from a chain of events., many of them long forgotten, into an exciteing life drama which any reader will not want to put down. It would be a sad day for people who are not intersted in wrestling if they miss the main event in this book, which is an unbeliveable tale of one mans struggle to climb the mountain of success.
Rating: Summary: Diamond Dallas Page really is the man... Review: I may be one of the few that remember seeing page on the old Florida Championship Wrestling Show. Even then something about him left an impression on me. When he reemerged on the scene in WCW a few years ago I was immediately drawn in by his arrogant, over the top self reliance. When he hit it big with the Diamond Cutter heard round the world on Scott Hall a couple of years ago, I became a fan for life. In this day and age, who would have thought that a professional wrestler would be a good role model? This book entails everything that I admire about Page. His self reliance, His refusal to quit in the face of adversity, and above all his commitment to the people who support him week in and week out. This book is not just a biography, it's an inspirational and motivational story of someone who has worked for everything he has. If you read this book and don't get excited and pumped up about following your dreams, nothing will. Buy the book, and encourage everyone you know to do the same. FEEL THE BANG!

Rating: Summary: Self high five for DDP. Review: I you liked Have a Nice Day you'll like Positively Page as well.I remember Page from his AWA days so it was a treat to read about how Page started from the bottom and worked his way up to the top.I enjoyed all of the pictures as well as the quotes from various wrestlers. If you read Positively Page you better get ready to feel the BANG!
Rating: Summary: A "Diamond Cutter" above the rest... Review: I read this book in one sitting and find myself awaiting the sequel! Like the mythical Phoenix, Page has risen from the ashes on more than one occasion. You don't have to be a fan of professional wrestling to be a fan of DDP. This is a story of a man who has overcome insurmountable odds, by anyone's definition, and has gone on to reach the top. This book is about the triumph of the human spirit. This book is also a lot of fun, with a colorful cast of characters and incidents. I don't want to give anything away, but the story of the cobra and the cats had me laughing out loud! I was surprised by the honesty with which this book was written, there is no self-aggrandizing. I was also struck by how grateful Page is for all his achievements, since it is so very clear that he's earned them. Anyone who's ever seen DDP in the ring can't possibly know how hard he's worked to get there because he's made it look so easy! Page is truly one of the good guys and proves that you can be and still come out a winner!
Rating: Summary: Way To Go Champ Review: I just finished reading the book and wanted to let you guys know how much I loved it. I've been a fan of wrestling for at least 15 years and remember Page from his AWA days. I'm not gonna lie and say I've always been a fan of DDP's b/c i haven't. For some reason, I could never get into his character, but you can't deny his work ethic, passion or heart. After reading the book, my love, respect, and appreciation for Page rose to new levels. I fell in love with his confidence, his passion for wrestling and life, his heart of gold, his never say never attitude; I fell in love with Page. For the wrestling fans, Positively Page is a great look into the life of Page and the journey to the top of the game. For the nonwrestling fans, it's a book about a man overcoming all the odds to achieve his dream. It's one of those books you can read over and over and learn something new or take something from it everytime you read it. Way to go champ :)
Rating: Summary: Positively Great! Review: This book has given me a great insight into the man behind the wrestler. His life is not always easy but he has never taken the easy way out. I now know what Kimberly sees in him. She is lucky to have him and we are lucky to be able to share in some of his positive energy by reading his book and following his examples.
Rating: Summary: How about, NO, Page Review: DDP's book, Positively Page promises an insider look unrivaled by any other wrestling book out there. I have to strongly disagree. This book pales in comparison to Mick Foley's Have a Nice Day. We are given an inside look at DDP, which, as it turns out, is not much of a treat. He is not an interesting subject for a book. If this is going to be the trend of wrestler biographies, then they need to stop now.
