Rating: Summary: I Felt the Bang Review: Ive seen a few reviews on this book and they are not too good but in my opinion i thought that this book was great. While books like Mick Foley, Rock and Kurt Angle are mostly about wrestling, and i found them entertaining, DDP's book is completly origional. It is written from three perspectives1.His 2.His best friend 3.People he has known It is completly origional and to hear about how he over came so many problems to be Diamond Dallas Page was amazing and it is full of how he tries to be positive in all situations. This is a great book and if anyone disagrees i got 3 words for em. FEEL THE BANG!
Rating: Summary: You love him, you hate him.... Review: After reading all of the reviews of Diamond Dallas Page's "Positively Page", it seems that readers either loved the book or detested it. I have also read many wrestler biographies and while this wasn't the best one I've read, it certainly isn't as bad as many reviewers claim. I found the most interesting part of this book was his journey into the wrestling world and where he actually decided to become a wrestler rather than just a manager. I can't think of any other performer that has made that kind of transition and I doubt that there will be another one with the absence of manager characters in the wrestling world today. My only complaint with the book is that as it moves into the NWO storylines later in his career, he tends to fade in and out from "shoot" to "storyline". Prior to that, the book was primarily a shoot. All in all, not a bad book and it really makes you respect the hard work he put into going from a manager to a top of the card guy.
Rating: Summary: The Worst Book I Have Ever Read Review: First, let me say that I love wrestling and have enjoyed most wrestling books I have read, though they are often very amature from a writing standpoint. DDP's book, however, is not worth two cents. Most of the book focuses on on DDP's life outside of wrestling, which is not nearly as exciting as he thinks. The portions about wrestling are mostly quotes from DDP's friends in wrestling talking about how great he is. At best, DDP comes across as arogant and cocky. Yes, I did say "at best he comes across as arogant and cocky." I can not think of a nicer way to paraphrase my thoughts on this book and Page Faulkenburg (pardon my spelling). After reading this book, I am glad DDP is stuck in a near "jobber" persona on WWF TV these days. In summary, DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK unless you like to throw your money away.
Rating: Summary: It's not a bad thing... It's a good thing Review: It's me, It's me... It's D.D.P. I thought this book was very insightful into the journey of one of the most postively man in sports-entertainment today. He talks about bar career, relationships, helping out the kids, and his dream as a professional wrestler plus many more exciting stories in his life. I recommand this book to any fan of DDP, closet wrestling fans, and people you cannot even stand wrestling to be inspired by DDP 's journey.
Rating: Summary: worthlerss Review: The book is worthless. He just rambles on about himself on how great he is. Seems he is really a very boaring person who is just pumped up on steriods and likes the tanning booth. Very boaring book on a very boaring person full of himself. After reading the book it is as if he did a bunch of nose candy and extacy on started to write his ego.
Rating: Summary: Take the Journey and Feel the BANG! Review: What can be said about Diamond Dallas Page? He's truly a great wrestler, a great performer, a great role model, and after reading his story, a great author! This book is filled with so much information about Page's life that after it you honestly feel as though you know the man. Unlike the Rock's book, this book is done in real life and it isn't some wrestling story driven book that insults our intellect. I put over a great deal of WCW's products simply because somewhere along the lines I grew a strong dedication in my support for the product, but this time I can honestly say it is something you MUST read to truly appreciate not only DDP the wrestler, but DDP the person, and a remarkable one at that.
Rating: Summary: Only A DDP mark would enjoy this book Review: If you are buying this book to read about the inner-workings of the wrestling business dont bother,If you are buying this book because you are a DDP mark then this is for you. This book is nothing but Page telling you how great he is and how everything he touches turns to gold,Page comes across as the savior of WCW ,while his friends continue to tell you the same thing. There are other very good wrestling books to read, dont bother with this one.
Rating: Summary: Page,da bomb Review: This book iz awesome!this book is so could,i can't even decide if the diamond cutter or this book iz better!it will out and out give u the best 446 pages u can find.
Rating: Summary: Not the best but certainly good enough. Review: Compared to recent books by wrestlers such as Mick Foley and The Rock, Diamond Dallas Page doesn't rate as high. This is a good book, tells his life story but drags occasionaly. It lacks the excitement not seen in the other 2 books. From this book I see DDP as a positive influence in society and wish more wrestlers would follow in his footsteps.
Rating: Summary: Awful and self serving Review: This is not a book. It is a 400 page pat in the back on how great Dallas Page is. The "writing" is awful. It consists of endless accolades from friends on how great Page is. Not recommended!
