Summary: The Bumps Behind the Bang
Review: This has got to be one of the most inspirational books ever written by ANYONE, wrestler or not. Please, please, please do not listen to the people who are putting this book down. DDP pours his heart and soul out in this book. He tells it like it was and is in his own inimitable way. The stories of his pre-wrestling life are funny as hell. The story of his rise through the ranks and paying his dues in the wrestling business is an unbelievably fantastic shot in the arm for anyone who feels or has been told "You can't do it". Reading this feels like you're sitting right next to him and his "bro's" at a bar listening to them reminesce. You can see and feel the plans, the adrenalin rush, the pain, the struggle and the determination in every word on every page. You don't have to be a wrestling fan to enjoy this book or a mark for DDP. I laughed, I cried, I felt inspired. I've even gone back to exercising! This will be one of my prized possessions for the rest of my life and I know I'll reread it over and over again....especially when my yo-yo is down. Thank you Page and Smokey for a great book. Hopefully I'll have the pleasure of telling you in person one day.

Summary: Give this book to your kids!
Review: This is a biased review. I'm gonna "mark out" on an old friend, but if you can't support your buddies, then what kinda buddy are you?

This is a great read for any wrestling fan. Provides a great perspective of what goes on "behind the curtain" in the WCW and what it takes to become a "Main Event" wrestler. It's a real metaphor for life in any other avenue, be it getting a good idea past the mind numbing middle management morons in Corporate America or accomplishing a personal dream.

Smokey (the author) has really done a great job of structuring the story of a guy who has lead, by any measure, a most unstructured life.

From the Page perspective, his book illustrates the power of personal conviction, what a person can do to overcome obstacles that life throws at them. Even if some obstacles are occasionally self inflicted, Page demonstrates how he overcame some bad habits, refused negative thinking, demonstrated the ability, and if I may, the humility to admit his mistakes and reinvent himself. That's right... I used "humility" to describe an attribute of Page Falkinburg.

Bottom line, it's a great motivational book, not by preaching, but by relating personal defeats, setbacks and victories by example. You can't help but to pick up on the energy level of Page.

It's been a long ride from the dart games at the Moby, hey buddy?

Summary: Why?
Review: I guess everyone and their mother decided it was time to write their gripping life story. This poorly written book is yet another discredit to the wrestling business. This is a business where so many people have given pride back to the business and then Page Falkenberg produces a book written on a third grade level full of wrongful facts.

The question is obvious, why does Diamond Dallas Page even have a book? I can't answer that one. If he has a book then why doesn't Marty Jannetty, Pat Tanaka, Buff Bagwell or even Scotty Riggs? Why don't they? Because with all due respect nobody would want to read a full book about these wrestlers. Certainly one shoot interview on video or 4 page one on the Internet would be enough for a fan. Just like Bill Goldberg, Page is another guy who was convinced by Eric Bischoff that they were a star and even though he is by the way one of the worst champions of all time according to the ratings, Page bought it.

This book was the fire back from WCW to the WWF at the time for having Mick Foley's book. Well if that is the case, that is a bigger joke of a fireback then the debut of the Maestro. If you are looking to buy a good wrestling autobiography, pass on this one at the bookstore. It is a terrible book!

Summary: Turning the PAGE
Review: I didn't like DDP when I first started watching WCW. That changed quickly, as I admired his work ethic in the ring. Even as a heel, he got the job done, and I became a fan long before he became the People's Champion. In his book, Positively Page, I now understand why I've been a fan so long. Page has overcome a lot of disiversity in his life, and the book details it in a very unique way, from first person from Page through various narratives by friends and others. The book reads like a television documentary, and it's a very easy read. My personal library is made up of over one thousand books, and this is one I would highly recommend for sports fans, sports entertainment fans, or for anyone who likes to see the underdog win.

Summary: Positively Awesome!
Review: I have to admit, I never really was a DDP fan. I remember watching DDP rising through the ranks in WCW a few years back and saying to myself, "Why is WCW pushing this guy? Who is this guy?" But after reading The Rock's and Mick Foley's books, I decided to buy DDP's book, as my thirst for more insight into the world of wrestling continued to grow. My attitude towards DDP quickly changed as I was introduced to the trials and tribulations of DDP's road to wrestling. This man is truly an inspiration not only to wrestling fans, but to anyone who has ever had a dream to succeed in life. DDP's will to overcome negatives from the bottom of the Yo-Yo and turn them into positives is remarkable. 'Positively Page' is a gem of a book and I enjoyed every page of it. DDP's will to overcome his reading disability and then write his own book is beyond words. After reading 'Positively Page,' am I now a DDP mark? Positively yes! Thank you for the inspiration DDP. In conclusion, to quote DDP, "The pleasure was all yours!" BANG! Chris

Summary: Ya love me¿Ya Hate Me¿You¿ll NEVA¿FORGET ME!
Review: Just like the man himself, Diamond Dallas Page, said, you'll never forget him after reading this book. Sure, wrestling is fake. I know that. So's everything else on TV. But the injuries are real, and that's something Diamond Dallas Page talks about in this book. From the broken arm he sustained that took him out for months, to the time in his childhood when he was hit by a car, he took every negative, and turned it into a positive. Hit by a car? He became the lead scorer on his school's basketball team, because he practiced standing there and shooting. Broken arm? He studied videotape of himself for months, and polished up his ring game. Page's trip through his life is a very inspirational one, from his days owning bars and clubs, to being the best manager of a wrestler around, to doing the impossible, and becoming the THREE-TIME...THREE-TIME...THREE-TIME World Heavyweight Champion of WCW. Like a yo-yo, Page's journey has it's ups and down, it's dips and it's returns, but Page always finds a way to bounce back from adversity. I hope you buy this book, and find its tale helpful to your life. Once you open this book, you will feel the BANG! and you will feel the true-life story of a hero, a legend, and a great man.
