Rating: Summary: When Rabbit Howls Review: I recently had to purchase this book for college and I found it to be somewhat choppy, but overall, it was a very interesting book. As suggested by my Psychology professor, you might want to keep a small journal of the characters and events that take place b/c Truddi's personalities change so rapidly.
Rating: Summary: I thought the book provided a lot of insight. Review: I thought this book was very interesting. As a psychology student it helped me realize what a person dealing w/ multiple personalities is going through. They don't know it's happening even though it's taking over their lives. I would recommend this to anyone who has even the slightest background of mulitple personalties.
Rating: Summary: An Excellent Book. Review: This is an excellent book that really gives a true portrayal of abuse and what it can do to a person. It is not for the faint at heart, it made me very angry and also to the point of tears in parts. Truddi Chase(and her Troops)are very brave for being able to share with the world the horror they went through. This book is beautifully written and I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Very emotional! Review: Well written. Probably an eye opener for people who do not know about or accept some of the worst types of child abuse and what it can do. Trudi (& troops) must be complimented not only for telling her (their) story but for the honest and yet tactful way it was told. I would recomend reading this book AND having a friend to discuss it with! Thank you Trudi and Troops
Rating: Summary: This is One of the Best Books I Have Ever Read! Review: I cannot believe the reviews that contain the words "dull"! Who are these people? There was not one thing dull about this book! It saddens and angers me that there is such ignorance out there! Read up, people! M.P.D is a real psychological disorder!! It was an incredible story of the mind's way of coping and surviving such torture. Very well written, I may add! I cannot wait until the next book coms out! Take Care, Truddi!
Rating: Summary: Intense and Powerful Review: Although I did not "enjoy" reading is book, I found it to be very emotionally intense and powerful. The style in which it was written was very different from the usual prespective. It was interesting and I learned a lot about the human spirit,as well as our capabilities as intelligent beings to cope with abuse.
Rating: Summary: This book allows us to understand mpd Review: I have read this book twice and saw the movie twice and I still seem drawn to the troops and Truddi... I wish them the best. I saw Truddi on Oprah, what an incredible survivor. This book is hard to read but with so little memory, the troops did a wonderful job. thanks...
Rating: Summary: Excellent, though occasionally painful Review: Frightening in intensity - it sneaks up and gets to you when you least expect it. I applaud the Troops bravery for letting the rest of the world know that Multiple Personality Disorder is indeed real. Also, to the person who said that this book was dull and that the Troops were suffering from schizophrenic delusion, I will say this: At first, my reaction was anger. Now, though, the reaction given is more of sadness at the ignorance displayed. Electrical equipment does indeed act oddly around times of great stress for the Multiple. (Either that or it seems to TALK to the person) Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading the new book. (Anyone know when it will be out?)
Rating: Summary: An eye opener Review: This type of crime steals the soul away. In Truddi's case, it was demolished and she was left with bits and pieces to rebuild with. Truddi, thank you for sharing and making this an awareness to others. It needs to have a voice. The book is very graphic, but child sexual abuse really can't be prettied with euphemisms. It's a hideous reality. I have much rage FOR Truddi, for others and for those who are enduring right now.
Rating: Summary: Written As Though It Were Untrue Review: This book was written in a dull style, with a lack of detail about her day-to-day existence that caused me to consider it fiction. I don't mean to offend, but knowing MPD sufferers, I just didn't believe Ms Chase. Some of her claims, such as burning out all the lightbulbs in her house with her intense psychic scramble, are just preposterous and more indicative of schizophrenic delusion.
