Summary: Little Debbie is not your friend...
Review: I discovered his website and I was hooked. It's hard to embark on a process that will change your body and your life, but Fred Amderson manages to give you the ispiration to do both. I have followed many of his suggestions and guess what? I've lost 28 lbs. simply following only some of his recommendations. I have a good bit of weight left, but hey, if the king of the couch potatoes can do it, so can I! Save your pennies and buy this book!

Summary: Better Than Dr. Phil's Book
Review: I read this book and Dr. Phil's Ultimate Weight Solution within two weeks of each other. The Dr. Phil book will go in the Goodwill pile, but I'm keeping this one. It's too bad the good doctor didn't have Fred Anderson around to "tell him like it is."

This isn't a diet book (Dr. Phil says his isn't either, but he lies). This book is the journal of a man who actually lost all the weight and how he did it (Credibility here, which Dr. Phil doesn't have on this issue). Fred Anderson says overweight people need to eat whole foods, exercise and skip the pills and quick fixes (Dr. Phil says to eat whole foods and exercise but then sells his own pills and nutritional bars which are sugar-laden).

I found the Anderson book entertaining and motivating. Anderson has a positive mental attitude, and it's contagious, spreading to the reader. This is the first time I've liked a book enough to review it.

Summary: Good Read
Review: Tired of all the blah, blah, blah from various diet gurus I find this book real, down to earth and to the point. No dancing around the whole "why I am fat" discussion, I am fat because I eat too much, move too little and make excuses as well as justify why I ate all that non-nutritious, calorie laden food. Fred's insights as well as his struggles help me to move more, eat less and stop making excuses. If you are ready to get real with yourself about why you need to lose weight, this is the book.

Summary: Forget Dr. Phil; Fred's the real deal!
Review: When I embarked on my own weight loss journey two years ago, I went searching for some online resources. I found Fred's website and immediately got hooked. His book, a distillation of that online journal, is similarly addicting. Fred writes from the heart about his weight loss, his attitudes, and his success in a direct, encouraging, witty style. He won't tell you what to eat, how much to eat, or when to eat; he'll tell you how to change your mind, and thus change your weight. I believe him; after all, he did it! He also inspired me to do it; I've lost and kept off 75 pounds.

Summary: Amazing
Review: I have been dying of anticipation waiting for this book to be published. This is absolutely the best advice for weight loss and a great success story. Funny, entertaining, and honest. What else could you ask for

Summary: Enlightening, Entertaining, an Inspiration
Review: Be warned: in his book, Mr. Anderson strips away each and every excuse you may have been relying upon for years. From Chunk to Hunk is an excellent reference for anyone who has decided to change his or her life, and it's an inspiration to those who may not have reached that point, yet. I've looked to it again and again when I need a reminder of the power that we all have within us to change our reality. Fred challenges long-held beliefs and misconceptions in a straight-forward, simple, and often humorous style that has left me stripped of all of my previous crutches and armed with "new" truths that have been lying dormant within me for far too long.

Summary: YOU HAVE TO BUY THIS BOOK!
Review: I discovered Fred's website just after he removed his journal. I was heartbroken. So many people linked to him and I had to see what the hub-bub was about. I learned he was putting his journal into a book, and I eagerly awaited it. When I finally received it, I couldn't put it down. I "devoured" it. I've loaned it to three different people already and am encouraging even more to purchase their own copy as they will surely want to leaf through it on a regular basis for a daily dose of motivation. Anyone who says Fred's book is "hokey" obviously hasn't read it.

Summary: Fred is the man!
Review: I have read Fred's journals for over two years now and they have had a tremendous influence on my life. His straightforward talk about losing weight and dispelling the many myths out there are invaluable. On a weight loss journey myself, I have used several of his recommendations in order to lose over 40 lbs so far. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in losing weight or changing their lives for the better.

Summary: Fred has found the perfect weight loss tool - your brain!
Review: I stumbled across Fred's online journal a couple years ago. He was in the process of his transformation. I must have gone back and read it from the beginning 3 or 4 times. It was like having a low-maintenance diet buddy. I cried when he took his journal offline. I feel like he, Robyn, and the "Spud" are members of my family. I was so glad when he announced that he was putting his journal into book form. You really cannot transform yourself until you change your thinking. Seems simple enough, but we so seldom do it. Fred is living proof of the power of the mind. I wish him and his family all the best in this endeavor.

Summary: A Must Read!!
Review: I found Fred's Journal a little more than a year ago and have been hooked since. He has a fantastic way of writing and telling it as it is. By the time I had discovered Fred, he had already lost just about all his weight and the weightloss journal that the book is based on had been pulled down...well most of it that is! I have followed his quest to get this book to the public and it was well worth the wait!!!!! Anyone who needs to make a major change in their life will find this book to be a great inspiration. Fred's determination and his honesty is what makes this book a must read!
