Summary: FINALLY, SOMEONE THAT GETS IT.
Review: Weight loss is not about punishment, deprivation or being "good". Instead, eating well and taking care of your body is a REWARD and a CELEBRATION OF YOUR LIFE. This guy gets it and, as a result, effected lasting changes in his life. What a refreshing change from the attitude set of the diet gurus which must count on you to fail for their continued income stream. Buy this book. Celebrate yourself.

Summary: NOT YOUR TYPICAL DIET BOOK
Review: I love this book. Fred Anderson pumps you up to finally change your life. Diets don't work. You do. He takes your mind places where you probably haven't been before and gives you what I call *mind tools* to get there. I've read quite a bit of diet books that deal with the psychology of losing weight and this is definately the best. I think everyone will get something (if not a alot!) of positive stuff in this book to finally make a change. Thanks Fred.

Summary: What have you got to lose?
Review: Are you an emotional eater? Do you have the fat gene, or maybe you suffer from the fat virus? Do you eat practically nothing and are still fat? Fred Anderson has the cure for you.

Anderson pulls no punches, and even attributes his own life among the superfat to - hold onto your Twinkie - laziness. He speaks directly to the reader, asking you to answer tough questions about yourself and your weight. Questions you may not want to face. Anderson is Born Again, preaching the gospel and sharing the good news, determined to bring the as yet unredeemed to the church of healthy living.

Yes, his delivery might be irritating at times. His words might even make you mad. But keep reading. Within his proselytizing are tools you can use to stop being fat forever. Without dieting, pills, surgery, deprivation, or any of the other questionable and downright dangerous methods on the market today. Once you get past your anger, you might find it's not Anderson you're really mad at. Then you can start to change.

One caveat, which I add because I'm giving this book to a Southern lady of-a-certain-age with delicate sensibilities. The subject of Anderson's genitals (in the context of weight loss and exercise) comes up rather frequently. If you're a man, you'll appreciate his frankness. If you're not used to this hearing about such things, you might need a heads-up. So to speak.

This book is a great value, especially compared to the alternatives out there. Enjoy your own transformation.

Summary: Review by the REAL Jason Millikan
Review: I did not write the review that is posted on here, I have sent an email to have it removed. It was done as a joke by someone I lent the book too. Here is my review: I think this was a very inspiring book. I have been a reader of Fred (and Robyn's) website for a few years now and have always admired how down to earth they seem to be. The book was exactly like I thought it would be, full of Fredisms and good advice. A great read.

Summary: I've read it twice the first week
Review: I bought the book "Chunk To Hunk" about 10 days ago and have already read it twice. This is an almost-miracle in that I do not EVER finish a book. I get too bored. But this one not only held my interest but made me laugh... and cry. I cried because it was the first time that I have felt like somebody really told my story and seemed to capture the emotions that went along with dealing with being obese and feeling trapped in that world.

Fred's book pointed out a lot of things that I just have not thought of... but one especially was that I was on WW at the time I read his book and had been mentally obsessing on food and was so consumed with how I could manipulate the point system to be able to still get as MUCH processed sugar and other unhealthy things and still lose weight. I was dreaming about food, writing down food plans, counting points, talking about food... always looking forward to the next meal and all the "bad stuff" I got to eat and was could call it a diet!

I realized when I read about how he was losing his weight that there are a lot of cheap imitations out there and some can actually bring about weight loss... but they do not offer permanent change unless you continue to drink the supplements, take the pills, go to the meetings or count your points. He shared about how it took a complete change in your thinking and that you had to change from the inside out... having to throw out all the old tapes about how it is done and being willing to try a brand new way of living. Eating the right things to bring you optimum health and moving more and most of all... coming to love yourself enough to be willing to do what you need to do to make your dreams come true.

I started that book thinking it was just another book by a person who lost weight but would probably gain it all back... but I am convinced that he won't.

My grandpa used to tell me to eat stuff out of his garden and then go outside and play and the weight would fall off and STAY off. I should have listened to him way back then... but since I didn't... thank goodness that Fred wrote this book.

It will be money WELL spent if you buy it. Sure will cost a lot less than a quadruple bypass. :) Think about it.

Summary: I enjoyed it.
Review: This is not your typical weight loss book. In fact, it's mostly about the story of an overweight man who does it on his own. I found it to be highly insipiring and would recommend it along with other "personal" weight loss books. This is the real deal, from a real person and is worth the effot if one needs inspiration. SO, I would recommend it.

Summary: On The Highway to weight control
Review: I liked Fred's book. He has a lot of good perspectives on gaining a new positive self image of the person he wants to be and thoughts on how to attain and maintain the new lifestyle change he went through.

Buy this book. If you only get one or two things out of it, it will have paid for itself many times over in a better healthier lifestyle for you. I think you'll get even more out of this book if you take to heart and apply the principals there in.

I've given this book to other family members to read and plan on re-reading it myself as time goes by.

Summary: Snore fest
Review: I am sorry to say I was disappointed in the book, I was seeking a weight loss book and It did not really say anything outstanding, basically eat less and move more. A great idea but book worthy? I do not think so. I feel like it was missing many things such as pictures, before and after! Is there a hidden reason behind this? Is anyone as perfect as he lets on? Again I do not think so. To me the book seemed like it was thrown together and shipped off to be published. Unlike worthy manuscripts this one does not tell me anything I could not figure out on my own. I do feel if you are a fan of his website you will enjoy this. I checked that out and that would be another review! I just do not recomend this book to anyone seriously looking for a guide to weight loss but for anyone who wants to read about a man who thinks he is all that, I say buy the book and you will not be disappointed! The author was a little stuck on himself throughout the book. It could have been told much better and to me just looks like someone is trying to make a buck from a book. Better luck next time Hunk!

Summary: Fred's just an ordinary guy...
Review: who traded in his sugar filled junk food for whole grains and veggies and became a "hunk". He doesn't exercise endlessly, he doesn't eat weird food, take supplements or drink gallons of water. He just eats nutritious food and exercises moderately. He turned his life around after he saw what his future would be if he didn't change his lifestyle. He decided that his future would be that of a fit, active and healthy individual and he has achieved this. This just shows that you really can do anything you set your mind to achieving.

Summary: Nothing profound, but I love it anyway
Review: I've been following Fred's Web site for over a year now. I was a reader when his food pile (a collection of food weighing as much as he lost) was bigger than I am and he declared himself at goal and gave the food to a food pantry.

There's nothing profound or earth-shattering in this book. It's all about moving more and eating less. But it's a great thing to read when your motivation is flagging or you start watching your weight for the wrong reasons. Being healthy, eating right, taking care of yourself beats counting food exchanges any day. Exercising for the sheer joy and power of it is a new sensation. It's like having a friend in a book to cheerfully, lovingly smack you back into moving forward.

I heartily recommend it.
