Summary: Five Men Who Broke My Heart
Review: This was a real, witty and entertaining book. It made one feel as if they were part of the reliving of Sue's memories of men. I highly recommend this "easy read". You won't want to put it down.

Summary: Hilarious Journey To Self-Discovery
Review: Have you ever wanted to look up an old love and find out exactly what went wrong? Well, free-lance writer Susan Shapiro did it....five times! Now happily married, but facing a no-book, no-baby summer and turning 40 to boot has made her take a hard look at her life and what went wrong. Her brutal honesty, self-deprecation, and poignant memories will leave you laughing and crying.

Why is it we have this need to rediscover lost love? Is it to make us feel younger, as she so wisely muses. Is it to reaffirm we married the right guy, after all? Or is it just to make sure all those heartbreakers from the past are now fat, bald, and miserable? No matter the reason, you'll enjoy Susan's trip down memory lane and the feeling of nostalgia that engulfs her before she finally comes to terms with the one man who influenced her entire life.

Summary: Tell us how you really feel!
Review: There's nothing like a brutal dose of honesty to wake you out of a "why haven't any of my past relationships worked?" slumber. As a woman who longed for my past breakups to have told me what it was that drove them away, it's humbling to read an account of someone who can look back and grab the moment when things went awry. And, more importantly, realize that it takes two to tango. I identified with most if not all the emotions described in this memoir, so much so that I might have been reading an excerpt from my own diary!
Any woman can relate to the issues raised in this book, from insecurity to self-deprication to drunken seduction! Susan Shapiro's voice is refreshingly, respectably honest...
If only the men we know could tell us like it is the way she can.

Summary: Delightful and Delicious
Review: Humorous and touching - just a really fun book to read. Would have been a great vacation book! Great for women in their 40's who can relate to wondering about past loves, but despite current realities, feeling satisfied with what you have. Her writing is terrific!

Summary: Marta Calero Kohn
Review: I was not able to put this book down. I found myself laughing and so involved with Mrs. Shapiro's journey. It's honest, funny and passionate. Many women would not dare to do what Mrs. Shapiro did, it's daring. It's a book that we can all learn from. I loved it!!!! Read it!

Summary: Because We've all Been There!
Review: Finally someone has the courage to cover everything from ovaries to orgasms! Too many authors fail at writing about their lives because it sounds like whiny drivel--Susan Shapiro avoids this trap by putting honesty before vanity. If you want more than a funny read and a book that slices into the soul searching all women (and couples) should undertake before becoming pregnant (and so much more!) buy this book.

Summary: Getting Inside a Woman's Head
Review: Being a guy I enjoyed actually getting inside a woman's head and that's what this book is, a look inside a real female brain. I liked venturing in there for a visit.

The author seems like she wants to be perceived as a tad odd with all of these weird things going on in her life. Yet in the end she proves to be incredibly normal, not to mention lucky. And she knows it.

Her parents are the kind that one could only hope to grow with. Her husband turns out to be a gem. Sure, she had to mine through other guys to get there but the trip is well worth it to her.

I usually have trouble finding women funny but Ms. Shapiro is funny and the way she rolls out her characters is sometimes frustrating, because I want to know more about them quickly, but when you finally find out what makes everyone tick it's worth waiting for.

This book is so honest that at first it's almost like seeing too much of her. Like she's baring herself naked. It actually made me a little uncomfortable. But as the book rolls along it becomes apparent that that is what is most enjoyable about the book.

I loved the last chapter. Made me a little weepy, but in a good way.

Ms. Shapiro comes across as someone anyone would be happy to hang out with. It just couldn't be boring.

Summary: Absolutely loved it!!!!
Review: I picked this book up to start reading it...and didn't put it down for a day and a half!!! I found it so enjoyable to read, it was terribly funny and made me think at the same time. It was my own private therapy session...Sue's writing is so clever and witty, I found myself laughing at the same time as I was questioning all of my own past relatinships.... Now i just can't wait for her next book to come out!!

Summary: Kudos to Ms. Shapiro
Review: Susan Shapiro did something that I've always wanted to do. She actually contacted old boyfriends. Not only that, but she writes about it in such a compelling and funny manor that I feel like I did it with her. Now, I don't have to get hold of my old flames!
Kudos to Ms. Shapiro. She is one of the warmest, funniest, passionate writers of our day. This is one reader who can't wait until her next book is published.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Trash
Review: Sounded like a great idea. Then I read it.

Pointless, overly detailed, obnoxious. Though the author has figured out how to simultaneously brag and dredge up embarrassing incidents, she learned little from revisiting her exes.
