Rating: Summary: Not a sales book - lemonade making more like it Review: After reading the book, I sent an email to the author and immediately received a response asking that I "put my thoughts down on amazon.com". On one hand, I thought she was brilliant. On the other hand, I was rip-roaring mad. So you figure out if it's worth a read. The nicknames really annoyed the beejeebers out of me...hee haw.
Rating: Summary: Daring, funny, insightful, a must read Review: I have known Barbara both professionally and personally for many years. This book of home spun tails outshines any Madison Ave. marketing book or Harvard Business School review and it's all true. Barbara is just as down to earth in person as she is in the book and she has spent a life time helping people like you. I know because she has been a role model, councilor, friend and boss to me over the years. You must read this book if you want to grow as a salesperson, business person or just as a person. Get it for your kids also, so they know that anything is possible, with hard work and creative thinking. It will make you laugh, cry and dream! It shows that you can start with humble beginnings and conquer the mountain tops. This book also gives you a glimpse inside of Manhattan Real Estate from someone who has done it all...against all odds. Barbara paved a new path, on old worn out streets. She changed the rules for the big boys in Manhattan real estate and now they play by her rules. Well done Barb!! P.S. I have read the book 4 times and I am working on my 5th.

Rating: Summary: Thank you, Barbara Corcoran! Review: A delightful, inspiring book that shows how to succeed in business AND in everyday life. I especially like Mom's lesson #19...When there are ten buyers and three puppies, every dog is the pick of the litter, and #23...Never be ashamed of who you are. When faced with what would be impossible situations to most of us, Ms. Corcoran drew on experiences from her childhood...simple solutions for complex problems, and created a multi-million dollar business. There is also a wealth of information in the Bonus Manual at the end...WHAT I WISH EVERY SALESPERSON KNEW. Excellent gift for someone going into real estate!
Rating: Summary: How to read it as a cusomter Review: The first reason to read it is that it's a top seller. The author boastes a lot of TOP seller's strategies from a lot of family experience. That's powerful and persuasive. while not opposing to become a good seller, I am really wondering how a customer can learn from the book. Customers have to advocate their voice to be heard anytime. TRULY. Your agent has a lot of influence on your purchase so that earning some amount of money. The book will teach you how those tricks work to their best effect. Do those agents really want to serve your needs, or sell the things in their hands? There's compromise. If you are not aggresive for yourself, you'll lose more grounds and serve them to some extent. The power in free market is everywhere and they have the advantage of much, much more info. At least after reading it, you will know how to keep an agent by yourself: you must say "buy it tomorrow", instead of "anytime" or "if i find the right one". At least to Corcoran's.
Rating: Summary: My mom loved it Review: I bought this book for my mom who is a real estate broker and she loved it so much she read it in one sitting. She said she learned alot and that it was a good investment for anyone that runs a real-estate office.
Rating: Summary: Use What You've Got, and Other Lessons I Learned From My Mom Review: Use What You've Got is a must read for anyone in the real estate market or trying to break the glass ceiling no matter what business you're in.
Rating: Summary: Putting the fun in functional Review: A generous slice of real life with a scoop of sweet humor on the side. This catchy business manual is breezy and fun, celebrating the bold moves that brough Corcoran her astounding success while revealing and sharing the underlying principles that guided them. But because those underlying principles are directly drawn from lessons Corcoran learned from her mom's deft handling of ten children, something bigger emerges--an affirmation of innate feminine common sense and a warm memoir of family life.
