Review: What a great read! This book is so inspiring, not only because I am in sales but because I grew up in a family of 7 kids and I can so relate to the funny stories! No matter what business you are in, this book will encourage you to work harder, have more fun and not quit! I had to stay up late to finish it and could turn right around and read it again.

Summary: ¿Use What You¿ve Got¿¿A Roadmap For Doing It!
Review: ...

Barbara Corcoran encapsulates extraordinary wisdom and guidance in a mere 250 pages. As a writer and businesswoman, Ms. Corcoran has the ability to keep life, with all its complications, simple and lighthearted. It is through her writing that she fosters encouragement of those that want the same kind of career successes she has experienced. She tells how she was taught to remain true to herself and by so doing she has helped others do the same. Her rise to the challenge of going it alone when that was the only path and charging forward toward her goals in good times and not so good times are testaments to and examples of the fortitude inside us all. At the back of the book is a step-by-step "how-to" section for setting your own business in motion-a hands-on guide that is an excellent reference. "Use What You've Got" is more than a comfortable and inspirational read. It's a bible. Seldom is such a highly successful individual able to tell in such a light, easy and engaging style what they did to get where they got then hand out the tools to get us there too. Barbara Corcoran's The Corcoran Group has become an empire because of these basic life lessons and applications. Barbara and her mother are inspirations and anyone reading this wonderful little, big book will surely be inspired.

Summary: A must read! You can't put it down.
Review: After I saw Barbara on the Today Show, I could not wait to get a copy of her book! The book is fabulously entertaining and well written with wonderful little stories. Throughout the book you recognize Barbara's uncanny abilities of being creative, developing friendships and running a company that anyone would love the opportunity to be a part of. I highly recommend this book to anyone, especially those in real estate. The best part. . .it encourages you to start thinking "outside of the box."

Summary: Just Rockin!
Review: I loved this book because it was warm and humorous and it gave excellent examples of failure and success. I recommend it to every person, whether they run business or a family, or both. I'm a freelance graphic artist and it started my brain going on how to help my clients not only by providing design, but offering some marketing tips too. It also explains how run a large business like a loving family team and how to get the most out of each person's unique strengths.

Summary: Hilarious and Inspiring
Review: Barbara Corcoran's book is a hilarious account of her successful rise to the top of the New York real estate market. Throughout the book she reflects back on her childhood citing funny antidotes and the lessons her mother teaches her to help cope with her challenges. She then shares how she has successfully applied these same lessons while building a million dollar business from the ground up. I found this woman's success story particularly inspiring as I am launching my own sales based business. I found myself laughing out loud every time I picked it up. Also, Barbara offers excellent sales tips and techniques at the end of the book I plan to utilize. Overall, an excellent, inspiring book.

Summary: Use What You've Got and Other Business Lessons I learned
Review: While waiting for a friend at the book store, I was intrigued by the title of learning business lessons from a Mom. As I waited for my friend, I ended up reading the first 3 chapters and purchasing the book.

From the minute you open the book, it is funny and thought provoking. Mixing a funny story that everyone can relate to with practical knowledge and important things you need to know about how to treat other people in the business world made this book awesome to read.

Barbara has shown in this book how to turn everything in to a positive, how to be creative, inventive and sometimes just downright funny. People often say that if you like what you do, you will never "work" a day in your life. Barbara has certainly given me new perspective about how to enjoy what I do and how to appreciate and enjoy the people I work with.

This book is great for people who love their mother, for mother's who need a creative alternative to rearing their children and for any business person who would like to learn the right way to do it. Thank you, Barbara, I enjoyed every minute of it.

Summary: ONE OF MY MOST TREASURED BOOKS
Review: This book is for everyone. Packed within the sunny book cover is priceless information for both the business & non business person alike. Barbara takes you every step of the way as she starts her company. It begins with a $1,000 loan & and a betrayal. When faced with problems & set backs she refers back to her childhood where her Mom always had advice and words of encouragement for her, and this is how Barbara became so successful. But, of course it wasn't always smooth sailing, as you find out what she did to save her company when it was just a heart beat away from going under, when the bottom fell out of the NY real estate market. Once you start reading this book you won't want to put it down. After reading this book you won't be the same as when you started it, because you'll feel better about yourself, and look at whatever obstacles you have to overcome in a positive way. We are all special, and have different talents, Use What You Got is a celebration of this!

Summary: It is even worse that the cover...
Review: Save your time & money!

First, one sees a plastic-surgery customer. Then one gets an almost hilariously bad onslaught of self-promoting garbage. This book is a mix of "just Jack" scenes from _Will & Grace_ mixed with the platitutes of very bad greeting cards. AVOID!

Summary: Inspirational, Practical, Genius...
Review: For years I'd been facinated by the New York City real estate market and how fantastic it was compared to other cities, I picked up this book because I had a friend that worked for the Corcoran group and it blew me away. I gained such an admiration for Barbara Corcoran and how she founded her empire on such basic, common sense principles, and alot of hard work. Her book pushed me to finally take that step and pursue the interest that I had had for so long, now, I'm happy to say, i'm now at the Corcoran group myself and I look forward to being as successful as Ms. Corcoran was and is by using the same ethics and principles that she upheld. Congrats!!
