Summary: A delightful, inspiring book!
Review: Having grown up in Barbara's home town of Edgewater, N.J. her book brought back so many memories of my childhood. I knew Barbara's family, especially her mom. I laughted and cried my way through Use What You've Got. Barbara's humor and no-nonsense approach to real estate and living her life is definitley refreshing. This book teaches you how to learn, stretch your edges, and think creatively no matter what situation you're in. I would encourage everyone to read it and then give it to a friend.

Summary: Inspiring, Honest, and simply Fun
Review: Simply put, I LOVED THIS BOOK! It was truly honest, funny, motivational, thought provoking, inspirational, and bold. I use the word bold, because she does not hesitate when describing her thoughts, opinions, goals, and ways of achieving them. She is generous with her ideas and basically maps out a road to success not only in real estate, but in any venture. I recommend this book to anyone, especially if you are in real estate. This is one of those books you don't want to put down, and look forward to. I found myself wishing there was another 100 pages. Now go and buy it....cheers!

Summary: Both sides of the river
Review: Barbara came from the far side of the Hudson, a world away from Manhattan, and became it's "Queen". I laughed...I cried and most especially loved the accounts of her magical childhood in a 4 room home filled with 10 kids. Can't wait to see the movie!

Thank you for connecting to all us.

Summary: Stretches the truth, but I fell for it anyway
Review: As I was reading Corcoran's book, I found myself simultaneous impressed, inspired and dumbfounded. The first two are obvious. Working class girl works her way up to the top spot in the New York City residential real estate game with a equal measures of hard work and luck. Where the book lost me was on her tendency to stretch the truth just a bit to make a point. I believe the most glaring example comes in her telling the story about her venture into putting her business on the Web. She tosses out hyperbolic figures about the birth and growth of the Internet that are simply not true. They make a great story, but call the fact checker, please!

Still, for some reason, it didn't matter to me. I knew she was exaggerating, even lying, but I skimmed right by it. Just like a potential home buyer will overlook an obvious fault in a house that they've alrady fallen in love with.

No wonder she was the real estate queen of Manhattan. She can sell anything, it seems.

Summary: She's awesome
Review: I'm currently a college junior interning at the Corcoran Group at 660 Madison Ave. in Manhattan, and I must say that I absolutely love it. Barbara Corcoran's book not only taught me many things about the real estate field and even about life in general, but also it made me excited to be interested in the real estate field and hopefully make a career out of it after college. I've seen Barbara Corcoran a few times around the building, and each and every time I see her, she always has this big bright smile on her face, making everyone else smile around her. She has such a great personality and smile, and she is also so incredibly down to earth. No wonder she is the queen of New York real estate!

Summary: An Entertaining, Inspiring Read
Review: This is not a book about the real estate industry, it's about life. EVERYONE will take away something after reading it. Any reader with a childhood will relate to Corcoran's tales of a family of 10 with one bathroom. Her warm, fond reminisces made me wish I grew up with them, and reminded me that I had some fond chidhood memories of my own after all. The real pleasure, though, is that Corcoran isn't afraid to share her less than stellar moments. Others may find the book merely a self-promotion gimmick; I found it entertaining and inspiring. A great rainy day or beach day book.

Summary: It's about time that someone gave mom the credit
Review: The book is excellent. The author presents lessons learned at home and applies them to the business world. It was obvious that the author's mother knew of the long-term investment she was making with her children. The book shows the value in what is done in the home and how to apply it to all situations. The question which went through my mind when reading the book was how can I turn this situation into a positive one?
