Summary: Common sense..but...Not Common Knowledge
Review: The advice in The Automatic Millionaire may appear to be common sense, but is it common knowledge or even better, common practice?

A ran into a guy the other day who laughed at me when he saw that I was in the checkout line at with this book. He said that is just an overhyped book and just good old fashioned common sense. I asked him how he was doing financially and se responded, "None of your business!" I looked at him and said "I guess that means you are not doing too well then are you!" When I looked down I couldn't help but notice that judging by the products he had under his arm, his judgment was not focused on personal wealth or anything that was good and wholesome.

I asked him how he was doing with the "pay yourself first strategy." Again he sort of started with none of my business but switched that to say that he couldn't afford to save 10% of income.

Here was a guy that needed this book more than anybody was wasting his money on things that were basically non essentials but wouldn't or ccouldn't see the value in a book like this one.

Now that guy is a definite-----DUH!!!!

Summary: Outstanding book
Review: I really don't where to start with this great book by Dave Bach. There is so much information in here. Everything you need to become financially independent is in here.

Not since Charles Givens groundbreaking book More Wealth Without Risk has someone packed so much useful information in one place. Information that works all the time and works for everybody.

Forget those 1,000 page fluff infested books written by non fincnial people or even worse, self publishing geeks who claim to be businessmen/entrepneurs but in reality are only spammers with no real investment/business experience and write horribly bad books.

Bach is a guy who has a system that works and is working for everybody. Ask Ophrah. Ask anybody who has tried it. Then go ask people who have bought those books written by people from newsweak, who are writers but not financial experts.

Great book Mr. BACH. I am looking forward to your next foray.

Newsweak writers and self publishers, better keep your day jobs.

Summary: The Not So Common Sense About Personal Finance
Review: Many negative reviews have been written about this book, and they are without merit. If personal finance were merely common sense, there would be much less personal debt in America. Even in a society where materialism rules, people with low incomes can afford to retire by following the plans set out in this book.
Most of the concepts in this book are so common sense that no one takes the time to actually do them. In my view, most people think that the ideas are too simple to be successful, but Bach puts them into terms that everyone can understand and see results.
This book is a very quick read, and each chapter ends with a teaser that makes you want to continue on to the next. For all young people entering the workforce and those who have been out of college for awhile, this is a must read.
If you have dug a hole of debt and want to get out, Automatic Millionaire will show you how to get out of debt while building wealth at the same time.
There may not be a more valuable investment/wealth tool on the market.

Summary: Save your money. Here's the book in a nutshell.
Review: Here's the entire book, in one paragraph:

Follow the old advice of paying yourself first, but make it automatic. Automatically pay yourself first by investing with pre-tax dollars. How do you do this? If you've got a retirement plan at work, join it. If you want to do okay when you retire, put in 5% of what you earn, before your paycheck is cut. If you want to have a middle-class retirement, save 10%. If you want to be well-off, save 15%. If you want to be rich when you retire, save 20-25% or more. (Note: This will probably require investments outside of your 401(k), 403(b), etc. due to savings limits. Two options are to set up automatic deposits to a Roth IRA or set up an automatic investment plan (AIP) with a mutual fund.) Other expenses? Make them automatic. Switch to a bimonthly mortgage payment, and have it automatically deducted, plus a little extra, from your checking account every two weeks. Live frugally and automatically, and you'll be able to retire as an automatic millionaire.

With that paragraph, you truly have learned all that this book will teach you. Save your money.

Summary: Took No Expert To Write This
Review: I HAD to read this book. The hype was overwhelming. Best-seller lists, waiting lists at the library. Wow! I was so excited to find out how to be an Automatic Millionaire. Turns out, I already knew how and I was already doing enough to be on my way.

Quick summary: open and contribite to an IRA, save money by not wasting it on unneccessary things, pay off your mortgage, repeat.

I could have come up with that in about 15 minutes. There is new information in this book. The actual way to become an automatic millionaire should be as follows:

Write a book that includes information that everyone already knows, put a nice cover on it, sell it for $20 each.

I would pass on this book.

Summary: Simple but Sensible
Review: People's most common argument relating to the content of this book is "it's too simple - everyone knows that." Well, I think the fact is, most people do know most of what this book covers, but they haven't put it into practice.

If you spend $15 on this book, you are exhibiting a certain level of resolve that SHOULD translate towards automating your finances. Don't just say it is too simple, do it.

I am not a financial neophyte by any stretch, and yet I got a lot of this book. It is very well organized and succinct. The fact that the book can be read cover to cover in ninety minutes isn't a drawback - it is one of its most attractive features.

Simply put, if you follow Bach's advice, you are putting yourself in the position of becoming financially independent.

Summary: Why a best seller ? That's ez--IT WORKS!
Review: I found a review here by someone givingt his great book a one star and asking "Why is this book a best seller?" Well, if you judge by paid bashers and never read the book, you may have the same question. On the other hand, if you buy and use the book you will know the answer--IT WORKS! People tell people, friends are telling friends and that is what makes a best seller.

Not 1 star bashers or mingling with ratings. By the way, The Automatic Millionaire is still in the top 10 by polls which are based on book sales, not mouse clicks ala here at Amazon.

The Automatic Millionaire is a great book that will positively impact your bottom line.

Summary: Great book, sound advice.
Review: I recently had the privilege of meeting and spending a few days with the author. Didn't know much about him before meeting him, but decided to read the book after learning it was a bestseller. Wow! The advice in the book is right on the mark. And anyone can benefit from employing the simple, straightforward strategies described in the book. If you're serious about becoming financially independent, and want the definitive "how to" guide, this is it.
