Rating: Summary: Borrowed it from the library..then bought it! Review: I have to agree with the previous reviewer on borrowing books from a library first bfore you buy them. I did that with this book and with several others. After one night of reading The Automatic Millionaire, I knew I had to own it and in fact, recommended it to another person I saw at the book store who was going to buy Making The Most of Your Money by JBQ. I showed him the differences and he agreed that Bach's book was a better deal. Besides, Quinn's book was so loaded with dust, he would have needed a airhose to spray it before he read it.Both the librarian and the manager at the book store told us that Dave Bach is along with Suze Orman the hottest personal finance author in America if not the world. Not only do their books sell, but everyone raves about them after reading and applying the advice. I highly recommend this book. If you are curious like I was, check it out at the library first. And by the way, steer clear of any books that are not available in libraries and books stores. If they don't won't them, why should we?
Rating: Summary: Excellent investment method for really busy people Review: I checked this book out at the library last night and read it in a few hours. Since I have read many investment and financial books, I already knew most of the advice. However, what David Bach does is break everything down into easy to understand and easy to follow instructions. It really inspired me to change the way I handle my finances. And I personally feel that by automating my finances, I will definately save more in the long run. That could add up to big bucks by the time I am ready to retire. I always knew things could be automated, in fact my IRA is already automated. What had not occured to me was to automate everything. He really opened my eyes to a new and easy way of doing my finances and I am thankful for that. David Bach's system of investing is a real time saver. Just set up your finances and let them run on auto pilot. I do recommend everyone read this book. Personally, due to its simplicity, I don't feel that I need to purchase the book after reading it. But, if I couldn't have checked it out from the library, I feel that it would definately have been worth the money to buy it.
Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE VERY BEST BOOKS ON MAKING MONEY ! Review: This is a book that belongs in everyone's book shelf who desires to be financially independent. If you don't want to retire early, by all means do not read it. I checked it out of my city library two times before I finally purchased a copy. I recommend it to many people. I also purchased the tape program by the same title and author that I listen to regularly while I am driving. I place this book with two other very special informative investment books. They are (1) "Guaranteed Profits With Small Stocks: The Only Stock Market Investment System That Comes With A $5,000 Guarantee" and (2) "Making Dollars With Pennies: How the Small Investor Can Beat the Wizards on Wall Street" (The last two books are by written by R. Max Bowser). All three of these books are by authors who walk their talk, with years of hard earned experience. I have learned a lot about successful investing from the University of Hard Knocks. I am saying that these three books I have mentioned may save you a lot of mistakes and appear to be written by the authors' real life experiences working in the trenches. These authors self-corrected their own investing mistakes and came up with their own unique systems thet work for not only them but for many people. All three of these books have helped me greatly.
Rating: Summary: Book review Review: The Automatic Millionaire is an automatic winner. Unlike other authors, Bach really cares about you. It is so obvious in his writing style....he comes across more like a friend or a good coach cheering you on to victory. It doesn't matter where you are right now financially. If you are doing well, you can do better. If you are not doing well, you will do better. Get this book, but even better, apply it. It really works.
Rating: Summary: Good solid advice Review: The advice in this book is great. I passed it along to some family memebers who are in credit card debt and it is working already. This book puts you on automatic pilot, while not new, how many people are doing it? I wasn't untill I read this book. Before reading TAM, I was expecting to have to wait another 18 years to pay off my home. How exciting it is to see that that home will be payed off in under five years with these techniques! As for the lower than normal rating for this book here at Amazon, I can only assume that fewer people are buying this from Amazon. What, with Sam's Club, Costco, BAMM and Wal Mart all selling TAM for less than what Amazon charges, why buy from Amazon when you can buy it for less, not pay any shipping charges and have it today? Besides, this kind of information you want to apply right away, not wait several days to recieve it. So that is probably the reason why the book is rated lower here at Amazon, people are not buying it from Amazon. Can you blame them? I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to achieve financial succe$$. Other good books include Suze Orman's newest book The Laws of Money and her encyclopedia, The Road To Wealth also available in paperback.
Rating: Summary: EVERYONE MUST READ THIS BOOK! Review: And if your children can read give them a copy as well. The info makes sense and is all proven methods. Very easy to read and entertaining.
Rating: Summary: Book is a RIP-OFF Review: One of the priciples the book teaches is to try and find the little expenses and cut them out to make big savings overtime. Here is your first one... Buy the original this book is a copy of, George Clason's 'Richest Man in Babylon'. It is only $6.00. Instantly Save Money! I have only started reading this book and saw some similarities right off... Then I saw this clown on Fox 25 in Boston being interviewed on the news, and he almost quoted word for word half of the principles Clason wrote back in 1926. This book is a cheap rip-off. Clason's book is a true classic and has helped millions either become wealthy, or become wealthier. The principles are time honored. The only way this guy is getting rich is by stealing and publishing a rip-off of the original text. Buy 'Richest Man in Babylon' by George Clason instead, save $6.00+ and be happy that you did not get ripped off. Why over pay for information that was published 80 years ago.
Rating: Summary: Great Money Management Book Review: I loved this book! It was easy to read and got straight to the point. David Bach gave good examples on how to exercise his strategies and make your money work for you. I especially enjoyed the credit card debt chapter and his tips on buying a house. I strongly recommend this book because he tells you things that an average person would normally not know to ask. It is also a great read for young people that are starting their first job and need to know investing tips.
Rating: Summary: Automatic Millionare review Review: I thought the Automatic Millionaire overall was a decent book. It was very repetitive and drawn out at times. It also suggests quite a bit of cutting back in life to become a millionaire, which was one thing I did not like about the book. With just a little common sense and research online you can accomplish the objective of the book. This book did have some helpful ideas and links to sites that may be helpful throughout life. It was easy to read and understand.
