Rating: Summary: Knowledge is power Review: A shortcut to success by the leading author of the genre. Precious hints about learning, communication and leadership. Not only a profound reflection on human nature, but also a user's manual of the brain. The title says it all
Rating: Summary: Outstanding! Review: Anthony Robbins encapsulates the best personal development strategies and combines it with NLP to create rapid change. This book will improve your entire life from reaching goals to rapport with others. I also highly recommend "Business By The Bible" by Wade Cook and the timeless classic "Think and Grow Rich" by Napolean Hill.
Rating: Summary: See last 21 word of the review for a summary! Review: Anthony Robbins is a GREAT author and this is his best book I recommend for beginners! This is a MUST HAVE. Once you are done with this, you will be better off reading more books a little more advanced in the NLP areas... And if you don't know what NLP stands for, you NEED THIS BOOK! This book presents a wonderful introduction to the world of NLP, and inter-personal communication. I give it 5 stars because of Tony Robbins' wonderful ability to compose a book in a well-structured fashion, and with easy-to-understand context. Also, this book introduces revolutionary concepts in nutrition and health. I have 21 words for you: "GET THIS BOOK! GET THIS BOOK! GET THIS BOOK! GET THIS BOOK! GET THIS BOOK! GET THIS BOOK! GET THIS BOOK!"
Rating: Summary: If you've nothing better to do with your money . . . Review: Anthony Robbins is already a multi-millionaire, so it's a fair bet that you need your money more than he does. Many of the reviews for this book claim astonishing results from reading this stuff. [Why some of these people have waited a year or more before writing a review is something of a mystery. ;¬) ] So, you might want to ask yourself "Did Robbins get where he is by reading books?" Not on your life. He went and got NLP training with Richard Bandler, then toddled off and started selling his own version of Bandler's ideas. This book is poorly written, far longer than the amount of useful information can justify, and gives a highly misleading impression of what NLP is all about. So, if you really want to help fill the Robbins coffers, by all means buy this book. If you want to really understand NLP I'd suggest you do fresh searches on NLP and on Richard Bandler. But only if you want real value for money.
Rating: Summary: 2nd best book I ever read. Review: Awaken the Giant Within was #1. Everyone is saying they don't agree with the nutrutional ideas of Robbins, yet why are they the same people who never tried them yet. If all his self help ideas were the same as everyone else he wouldn't be Anthony Robbins, he'd be just another self help person with average results. If you want results like Anthony you've got to model success completely. Try it and see how you feel. Overall his books got me into the self help/NLP field, thanks again Anthony.
Rating: Summary: A Good Basic Text on Manipulation of Self/Others Review: Buyer beware ! This book does explain how an Individual can be Manipulated by others. You can use it to better yourself, and I did. This Book, coupled with a few years of practical experience and a good public education, enabled me to survive the "Inner City" of Colorado Springs. Not only to survive, but to also enjoy the experience ! I would also recommend the books of Joe Girard ( especially "How To Sell Yourself" ), and the videos of Zig Ziglar ( he presents himself better in person than in writing ). "Ultimate Power" can be a two-edged sword...As far as nutritional advice, I won't go there, being on a "See Food Diet" myself. Should you want to get into shape, I highly recommend the two books entitled, "Get Tough !" both by different authors ( the one by Fairburn you can get right away, the other is out of print...).
Rating: Summary: too long and you would lose your patience! Review: I am a reader from Hong Kong and "Unlimited power" has recently been regarded as "one of the 10 best books" in the local community, therefore i was motivated to pick up and read the book. In one sense, the book is worthy of reference, it gives some very useful tips to readers to build up a more "powerful" self. However, chapter after chapter, i found that the book, the original english edition i read, is too repetitive, not only of its points, but also of its language. Sometimes it would really be too frustrating and it is such a waste of time to read just a point over and over again elaborated in several chapters. Keep the writing clean and concise and let the book be less shallow would be my suggestion to the author.
Rating: Summary: Some Glimmers Review: I did take something useful out of this book. Basically, it heightened my awareness about how to communicte effectively with different personality types. Not that this is something particularly new--I doubt there is anything new in the book--but I found it useful to present information differently to introvert and extrovert types, and I also practice occasional "mirroring". The advice on diet, however, is in my opinion, flawed. This book will not change your life, but it is an easy, and sometimes informative read, even if most proposed solutions are manifestly too facile to be true.
Rating: Summary: Great inspiration and strategies. Review: I enjoy Anthony Robbins material in general, but I especially enjoyed Unlimited Power because I felt it gave me more readily usable advice, including different strategies for modeling someone's syntax, belief systems, and physiology to improve oneself. Like all self-improvement material, it takes effort on the reader or listener, though, to affect change. However, Anthony Robbins gives you some of the tools to do so. I have listened to this several times (about a year apart) and each time I get motivated and something else clicks with me.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Tape--A step above pma Review: I have been a fan of the positive mind books for many years. They have helped me immeasureably. It has always been my contention that you can do more with a positive attitude than you can with a negative attitude. Naysayers often say that pma doesn't last. I used to say, neither does a bath but it is a good idea to take on on a regular basis and therein lies the keys to Anthony Robbins methods. You can't just swish yourself or anchor yourself one time and expect it to last forever. That would be like going to the gym and working out one time and say: Okay I'm in shape. Glad I don't have to go through that ever again!" Robbins teaches NLP (Neurolinguistic programming) and if you examine the name it ends with programming. You can't program yourself 1 time, you do it on a regular basis. I found this tape in conjunction with the book by the same name gave me a jumpstart on personal success. The tape is a condensed version of the book and should never be considered a replacement for the book. It does help tie together Tony's ideas. I also recommend Awaken The Giant which picks up where Unlimited Power ends.
