Rating: Summary: I was spellbound; I've read this book 2 times already. Review: I've had the book a little over 2 weeks and I have not been able to put it away; I read it over and over with much excitement each time. I am easily influenced and inspired to a great extent by a GOOD book and Dr. Dyer's book is just that; it is a real draw for me.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful... Review: It amazes me how some people are ready for this experience, and some are not. You can see them clearly in these reviews. No middle ground. Loved it or hated it. Well, I was ready for it and loved it. This CD is wonderful. What might seem basic or not high quality is really just 'Simplicity.' There's no headlines here, no get rich quick schemes. It's simple, straight forward meditation - time for you to go inside yourself and focus on what you want from your life. We don't take much time to do that lately. Try this CD with an open mind and an open heart, with the understanding that you create your life...Wayne Dyer ONLY offers some tools.
Rating: Summary: get 'The Art of True Healing' by Israel Regardie, instead... Review: oh, please...I dont necessarily object to this kind of material. It can help people to chill out, relax, etc., and maybe even help them accomplish worthy goals. However, the desperate stupidity implied by a phrase like 'Hearts Desire,' and the suggestion that this or similar methods are great for winning big in 'gambling,' is the lowest sort of commercial filth. Still, stuff like that gives people 'hope' of a type, that they may need for their own psyche and its impact on their lives. ...that said, I will simply suggest that one go for a more tried-and-true method, contained in an essay written over 70 years ago, and still in print ...altho' unfortunately (apparently!) not yet known everywhere, as it should be. 'The Art of True Healing' by Israel Regardie is out in an edition (book) somewhat less expensive than the Dwyer tape is. A recording of the meditation the method is based on, is also available from New Falcon Press. HINT: Regardie's volume outlines a simple yet powerful species of meditation usable by any intelligent and discriminating person, for not only the benefit of their health, but to solve 'marital, character, social or financial problems - in fact, any problem type of which one can think.' ...and, thankfully, Regardie explains the method in prose not designed to insult your intelligence. But please, go read the reviews for 'The Art of True Healing' book, and then add Regardie's volume to your shelf. It belongs on the reading list of any would-be meditator, of any type. Go to the source. It beats the heck out of concentrating on Dwyers' commercialized spirituality, which is less reliable than Regardie's simple method. (PS: dont be mad at old Wayne. He may have to do things like this to keep his market open for books, appearances, etc. Publishers and agents plan these things out this way.)
Rating: Summary: Basically good, but distracting Review: The basic premise of this audiobook is that "ah" is a universal sound for creating (or the creator) and "oh-mm" is a universal sound for peace. I liked the first part, where the author explained the concepts. It does feel wonderful to chant "ah" and "oh-mm" and to feel the vibration and the flow of sound from "chakra" to "chakra." I will enjoy doing this on my own and I would probably not have done so had I not purchased the audiobook. Unfortunately, his own chanting was very distracting to me. He wavers around the tone too much for my musician's ear and my natural tone is not very compatible. Since this is 3/4 of the tape, it doesn't feel like a good value to me. I see that others liked this aspect, but I did not. I would have preferred that he set the pace, give affirmations, etc. The "oh-mm" section was a bit of a turn off to me because of his use of the word "god" and the way he conceptualized god (especially his use of the masculine pronoun). I believe that most people, however, would not have this problem.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Excellent - But a Word of Warning Review: The CD/tape is great, comprising a morning and evening meditation. It needs to be used in conjunction with reading Dr. Dyer's book, "Manifest Your Destiny". However I would advise (and this is coming from a skeptic) to use these with caution as I found things happening very quickly after I started the meditations. This is no coincidence as two days after I started the tape I got a job that I thought I had wanted for years out of the blue, which I hadn't expected. You will also start to feel very light and ethereal, somewhat "out of body". So use with caution and prepare to be amazed!
Rating: Summary: My friend really enjoyed this CD (after I gave him my copy) Review: The reason I gave my friend a copy of this CD is because I didn't like it. I had just spent a wonderful evening hearing Wayne Dyer speak. He created a really nurturing atmosphere, and he seemed to broaden all of our minds to the possibilities of life. He talked about MEDITATIONS FOR MANIFESTING and said that it would help us manifest our heart's desire. He said this CD contained a secret technique taught to him by a master. I soon bought MEDITATIONS FOR MANIFESTING . . . and I was very disappointed. For one, I found nothing new about it at all. He chants the "Ohm," but that is nothing new to anyone familiar with mysticism or meditations. Secondly, well, let me put it this way . . . I love his books (see my reviews for YOUR ERRONEOUS ZONES and PULLING YOUR OWN STRINGS), and I think Wayne Dyer is a wonderful speaker, but let's hope he never becomes a singer because the notes he hits on MEDITATIONS FOR MANIFESTING are often out of tune, and he often can't retain the same note for the duration of one breath. I found this very disconcerting, and it broke my concentration. I actually couldn't get through this entire CD. I turned it off in disappointment. Now, my friend on the other hand . . . he enjoyed it. He told me that he listened to the CD while driving (probably not recommended) and that even a bee trapped inside his car seemed to be getting in tune with the vibe. "Those things are *all* vibrations," my friend said.
Rating: Summary: My kids love it! Review: This CD manifests all of my children to the bathroom everytime I take a shower. I find Aaaaahhhhhing and Ommmmmmmmming most effective when accompanied by hot steaming water and a great head massage while shampooing my hair. My children will begin chanting with me outside the door, soon all 5 of us are Aaaaaaaahing in unison. The baby really gets into it too. I recommend this as a family nite activity. It also works well for expelling cockroaches or an annoyed husband from the room.
Rating: Summary: Chi Congestion Anyone Review: This CD teaches one to raise the Chi up the spine without also teaching that the Chi must descend the spine. This course of action can cause serious damage you. I do not recommend it to people unless they are very experienced in yoga. Also, the manifestations I was hoping for did not occur. There is hope, however, look up psycho-cybernetics, matt furey, and zero resistance living. A little costly, however, Matt Furey's "Magnetic Mind Power" has already got me past the first round of interviews with Morgan Stanley after five days of practice.
Rating: Summary: Manifest what you want.. Review: This is a good CD. Don't listen to what other people say and form your own opinion. I work for a staffing agency and asked for job orders and be able to fill them...within a week I had a lot of job orders coming in and made 2 placements....this is not coincidence. You have to really beleive it and be able to sit down and not be disturbed...and get in touch with the "source". I haven't done much of the evening part but will start soon. As far as the pitch and duration, he does tend to change but that is fine and you can deal with it no problem. I usually turn it off and do it on my own after about 10 minutes.
Rating: Summary: awesome for cd lovers Review: This is a great tool for meditating if your preference is audio. For me personally, it did not float simply because I like to read my information and assimilate in my own way. My mother loved it because she enjoys kicking back and listening to CDs.
