Summary: If I had only ONE book to read for the rest of my life. . .
Review: It would be Eckhart Tolle's "The Power of Now." No matter your gender, race, religion, culture, class or country, you will be utterly and delightfully transformed by meeting each and every day without pain, regret or turmoil. I have been a spiritual seeker for a very long time as well as an artist, poet, author and publisher. But I have NEVER encountered anything penned by myself (or anyone else) that can touch the great gift this wonderful teacher has given us all -- NOW. The only caveat here is my own personal preference for the audio format; but this is simply because it's the easiest to "breathe."

Summary: Life Changing and Easy to Read
Review: This book is a profound (although repetitive) condensation of basic Buddhist philosophy. Presented in a clear and simple manner, it addresses the basic questions of existence and provides us with cogent answers. You can feel Eckhart's gentle and compassionate smile from beginning to end. I highly recommend this book to any serious seeker. Fully understood, it may be the last book you'll ever need to read.

Summary: Find Some Peace Now
Review: This book is about living in the now to find peace and happiness. We all spend so much time consumed with past hurts and the possibility of an unpleasant future that we are unable to live in the now. I have gained progress toward the goal of living in the now by studying this book and the book An Encounter With A Prophet. If you would like to give up bringing emotional garbage into your present and stop worrying about the future I recommend you read both books.

Summary: A Person Moved by Spirit
Review: What gentle and true words! Eckhart Tolle really brings us closer to ourselves -- using himself as a mirror for the reader.

Thank you, Eckhart, for listening to Spirit so well.

Summary: Read This Book and Skip The Others
Review: This book is the most succinct, clear and profound presentation of fundamental spiritual truth that I have EVER read; and I have read a lot. There is no ego here, no fluff; only Truth as clear and resounding as a temple bell, stated in a gentle, practical and supremely accessible manner. If you want a sword that will cut through your illusions and confusions in one brilliant sweep, this is it. I also highly recommend the unabridged audiobook version--both the book and tapes bear repeated reading/listening/digesting.

Summary: Just astonishing
Review: This book is just astonishing. It pulls you in like a vacuum and turns you inside out. I have given it to many friends who have thanked me like crazy ever since. Tolle is so innocently simple in his revelations of his spiritual experience that he causes you to experience it too. Not since 17 LIES by Steve Chandler has a book had the power to really change a life. NOW is not just a buzz word when you are through reading. Now is now. Right now.

Summary: Concise Zen
Review: Many years ago I had to surrender my ego to a therapist/guru (a Catholic seminary drop out/academically trained psychologist, no less) in order to abolish addiction in my life. The culmination of that three year period was an awakening brought about through intense psycho-therapy and intense concentration in the present moment (what are you feeling, now?). These years brought me to an understanding of Buddhism, particularly Zen (just follow the breath in and then out). It just made sense to me. I have read many books on Buddhism, including original texts, and pilosophy in general. I recently stumbled upon "The Power of Now", and I have to say that Tolle and I have alot in common. He articulates my personal experience (and I mean EXPERIENCE) of that early period perfectly. Therefore, I have to say he speaks my truth, justly. He puts forth an eclectic Buddhism (without the specifically intellectual elements of that philosophy) that mirrors another favorite spiritual commentator of mine, Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, whose "I Am That" is to me the apex of Now philosophy, a distilled version of living Buddhism. Tolle brings these esoteric Indo/Asiatic concepts to the West in a way that make sense to the Western mind. Most people are caught up in everything other than the present. I, in contrast, feel alone with my breath. It is nice to find an articulate spokesman who informs me that I am not, in fact, alone at all. For those who are serious seekers, who don't want the riff-raff of pop-eastern pschology, or who have mastered the intellectual details of Eastern thought, this is a good book. It is very good for beginners, and an excellent reminder for the experienced.

Summary: The Ultimate Book of Truth
Review: Eckhart Tolle's "The Power Of Now" is the book of all books. As a student of Truth for the past 25 years, I felt I'd studied and worked with all the Masters, to numerous to name, then comes Eckhart Tolle who cuts through all the reading between the lines and lays it straight out, as clear and plain as the nose on your face. The tapes are a great compliment to the book, although, I carry the book around with me everywhere. Presently, it is an aide to keeping me conscious that Now is all there is. The "Power Of Now" is the greatest!! My daughter and I practice The Power Of Now everyday in our business, Kreative Consulting, INK, Inc. (KCI) . . Thanks Eckhart! Summary: The Power of Now's Power
Review: One of the first things that came to mind with this masterpiece was the value of the words of someone who is an actual realizer, as opposed to the view of someone merely speculating, no matter how intelligent that person may be. It seems to really be true, even though it's impossible to explain, that the words of such a realizer carry a sort of power that you can feel, so that the state itself is conveyed in a subtle way. Some of the insights have, of course, been presented before--Tolle himself explains how ultimately the source is the same--but the emphasis and the particular presentation create a vivid and powerful effect. Don't miss it.

Summary: If you want to be a Finder, instead of a continual Seeker
Review: For those that are ready to quit reading about enlightenment, and are ready to actually experience a taste of it-- this is the book. Instead of dogma, you get actual teachings and tools- that work!-in EXPERIENCING what we all hunger for. Presence, peace, connection to the Divine. As far as 'spiritual books' go, I've read them all, and none give me as many 'aha' moments as The Power of Now. And they continue to come, even as I re-read it time and time again. There is almost a transmission of the state that Tolle speaks of. Buy this book. Buy two, because you will want to share it.
