Rating: 5 stars
Summary: thought provoking and encouraging
Review: With her wonderfully soothing voice, Clarissa Pincola Estes relates archetypical stories and their meanings to the listener. The book prompted me to reflect on my life, and how I should surround myself with supportive individuals. It also made me realize that I was not as emotionally supportive of others as I thought I was, and how I could change. In a sense, it gave me permission to relax and be myself. I would recommend this tape to both young and old. Bitterness is such a terrible fate. After all, do you want to be a crusty curmudgeon sitting in the corner, criticizing everyone, or do you want to be passionate, vibrant, individual, dancing through your life?

Summary: More about Women Who Run With the Wolves
Review: Within every woman there is a wild creature - an inner force filled with passion and creativity. Unleashing this natural power - and reclaiming the feminine soul - is the subject of this classic bestselling session by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés. Drawing from her work as a Jungian analyst and poet, she uses her own stories and folk tales to illustrate how societies strip away the feminine spirit. A magical synthesis that has inspired a new level of self-knowledge among women everywhere.

Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Ph.D. is an internationally recognized scholar, award-winning poet, diplomate senior Jungian psychoanalyst, and cantadora (keeper of the old stories) in the Latina tradition. Her doctorate is in intercultural studies and clinical psychology. She has taught and practiced privately for 26 years. With over three million copies in print, her New York Times bestseller Women Who Run With the Wolves has been hailed as a classic and the seminal work on the instinctual nature of women.
