Summary: Excellent video on Women's health and wellbeing.
Review: I happened on a PBS (KQED) showing of this video. I was so inspired by Dr. Christiane Northrup talk. She is a wonderful and funny speaker. She speaks to the female in all of us, even the men. Her life experiences, doctors view, realizations and insights expose one to new ways of looking at Self and health as a whole package and not in the traditional way of medicine and treatment. To see your body not as an enemy, but as a wise friend that should be listened to. She speaks about disease and illness as a possible learning process driven by the body and mind, an opportunity to expand oneself instead of closing down, giving up and just dying. As a woman swiftly approaching menopause I was relieved to find that I am in the right place and right frame of mind to enter this Wisdom period of my life. Dr. Northrup total validated my woman's life from start to finish, as journey filled with adventure, trials and constant learning. Thank you Dr. Northrup. I was disappointed that this video is not available for sale at this time. It would make a great gift to any woman of any age. I would especially recommend this video for young girls before they become young women. It will enrich their future health and wellbeing. It will let them be proud to be women.

Summary: Women's Bodies, Women's Choices
Review: I recently had an oophorectomy and my gynecologist and acupuncturist recommended I read this book before surgery. I had problems with ovarian cysts before, so I knew what to expect with this surgery. When I received this book and opened it automatically to page 217 - Ovarian Cysts, my heart stopped. Dr. Northrup was writing about me, my left ovary, stress, and creative block. I read the page 3 times to make sure I didn't write it myself. I recently purchased this book for a close friend who is having fertility problems. She cried because Dr. Northrup described her situation perfectly. As a senior editor of federal medical information, I HIGHLY recommend this book for yourself, relative, or friend. You see yourself on several pages, with each page presenting thoughtful, intelligent, and practical advice and guidelines on, not only western medicine, but holistic/alternative medicine. As a 12-year patient of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I recognized Dr. Northrup's acceptance and pursuit of the added value of other-than-western-medicine alternatives for health and balance in a hectic life. Dr. Northrup speaks with you, not at you. She offers qualified, sensible care treatments that we can and should practice everyday, most without added effort. If you do anything for yourself, purchase this book. You will cherish it because you deserve the information she shares.

Summary: Should be part of every woman's research on full living
Review: I saw this program, most of it, on PBS on a local station. It was fascinating, and the fact that Christiane Northrup is an MD adds to the "both sides" context -- woman and doctor. She really informs us that men and women have much to offer to their own physical health, before or without doctors, depending on the various needs. (Obviously, she does not advise we remove our own appendix or let a sick appendix get only watchful waiting!) I hope the video will be available in future.

Summary: Inspiring book
Review: This book gives a new vision of the female world, uncovering and fighting those clichés that have been persecuting us throughout our lives.
With Doctor Northrup's book we can at last identify with our physical and spiritual roles and love ourselves more. We (women) are unique creatures who need this unique and inspiring book.

Summary: A terrific video tape. One that every woman should view.
Review: Women's Bodies, Women's Choices really looks at four areas of women's health: heart disease, breast care, menopause and the menstrual cycle. Dr. Northrup outlines many of the choices women are faced with as they work with their healthcare professional to achieve better health. Dr. Northrup makes the material fun and most importantly understandable. She really helps one understand the true mind-body connection. We need more from her!
