Summary: Well Worth Reading
Review: I found Father Rolheiser offered us three critical benefits in his book: 1) Relevance. I found his observations valuable for any Christian seeking a spiritual relevance to their real life. 2) Specificity. His ability to simplify and clarify in a simple, easy to understand manner was the most refreshing tone I have read on this complex subject. 3)Inciteful. I found his wonderful detailing of the incarnation well worth the price of this book. Just a wonderfully appropriate and enjoyable read.

Summary: Timely, solidly based and so welcome!
Review: I treasure this book: page after page, I paused in gratitude for his on-target reflections, comments and questions. He preserves what is good in traditional faith but leaves room for growth. He challenges, but recognizes human struggle. His book is a tool for growth, timely and welcome.

Summary: A New Point of View
Review: I was amzed at the eloquence that Rolheiser writes with. I was not expecting such an evolutionary look at spirituality from a Christian perspective. A very rewarding and thought provoking book.

Summary: Outstanding, penetrating, thoughtful book
Review: It is difficult to put into words how wonderful this book is. I finished it today, and plan on turning back to page one to read it over again. Ronald Rolheiser put into words and concepts issues of spirituality and Christianity that deepened my understanding of where I am and where I need to be. His chapters on incarnation were very powerful; and, his last chapter, "Sustaining Ourselves in the Spiritual Life" gave a good (and empathetic) grounding on how to make these ideas relevant each day.

Summary: Best Book on Catholic Spirituality in 10 Years...
Review: Rolheiser does an amazing job of taking the reader on a journey of spirituality. He carefully crafted the book to help the reader understand the fundamentals of a solid Christian spirituality. Though clearly written from a Roman Catholic perspective, the writing and insight is so helpful that any Christian would benefit from it. This book will truly help one's reach expand his grasp spiritually.

The man who recommended this to me is brilliant for recognizing it as the best book on Catholic spirituality he had read in the last ten years.

This is the kind of book that starts great discussion groups and leads them to the formation of a community.

Summary: Plumbs the Depths of Spirituality
Review: Rolheiser has written the most challenging and most comprehensive book on spirituality that I have encountered in years. He raises the hard questions and addresses them. One may not agree with all he says, but one will certainly be challenged to think it through for oneself.

Summary: Knocked my socks off!
Review: Rolheiser makes familiar scriptural and theogical concepts fresh and new, as if I've never seen them before. Amazing, simple, life-changing stuff!!

Summary: For anyone seeking a deeper spirituality
Review: Rolheiser's book is especially valuable because of its readability. It is relevant and understandable for everyone seeking a greater spirituality, not just the professional minister or theologian, although those certainly can be included in his audience. I found his ideas insightful, prayerful, and thought-provoking. Usually I lend my books for others to read, but this time I have ordered several to give as gifts as this is one that I will want to read again.
