Review: I got the tapes in hoping to improve my voice. Paul Newham has a wonderful voice and "bedside manner". I found his voice exercises extremely hard to follow. He could do things with his voice that I could never do. His exercises were also very long. He often demonstrated a technique and then told the listener to do it. We were left on our own as to what and how he actually did. It would have been much better if he were to demonstrate an easy technique and then slowly made it harder. he demonstrated a technique and then did a completely different technique. Also after he demonstrated, he should do it with the listener so we can follow along.

Another irritation was that he seemed to be in love with his own music compositions. He had us singing along with the compositions. I did not care for the compositions musically and they were hard to follow. One has to memorize the melody and the lyrics, much less the music technique. It would have been much better to use some folk or popular mucis that people are aquainted with and sing to that.

His intuition with his students personally seemed intriguing. I would like to take a lesson from him personally but his tapes were of no use to me.
