Rating: Summary: Another incredible stop along life's journey... Review: I read FWG and cried with absolute joy. How can this be bad? After reading many of the previous reviews, I suppose that I suffer some of the same unanswered questions: How could I spend an entire lifetime investing every ounce of my faith in one path, only to consider another possiblilty? Then it hit me! Without question, God created me- therefore, He also gave me my doubts and curiosities. He gifted me with an incredible thirst for love and goodness and truth. And because of Him- like so many others who wander this earth, I've been on quite the spiritual quest. I think that reading FWG was simply another stop along that path...not a place to abandon all my past beliefs, but perhaps a place to adopt others that bring about the love, goodness and truth I've yearned for. I sinerely believe that the Gospel IS the word of the Lord. I suppose...I now wonder whether it was His last word? I can't believe that He stopped communicating with us over 2000 years ago..... You?
Rating: Summary: Thank you, God. Review: I've just been spending some time reading the reviews of Friendship With God, and I find tears of emotion welling in my eyes:) I am touched that so many of you feel as strongly about this as I do. I carry these volumes around with me wherever I go, for they give me a sense of security just to know they are near. I can't tell you what they have meant to my life. All I can do is thank the Creator, and thank all of you for these great tidings of gladness and joy:)
Rating: Summary: Great Books! Review: The CWG trilogy and Friendship With God are by far the best books on spirituality I've ever read. They are simply written, humorous, and speak with the wisdom of the ages. And, as I continue to read these glorious pages, I am slowly letting down my guard...allowing myself to open to the beauty of its message.
Rating: Summary: Live the message....Change the world Review: These books contain eternal truths which, if put into practical use in our lives, have the power to transform the planet. What each of us can do is to live these ideas and, by our example, lead the way for a new world built on peace, joy, truth, and love.
Rating: Summary: Walsch books speak to my heart Review: Neale Donald Walsch's books have touched me deeply...giving a sense of the perfection, beauty, and wonder behind all things.
Rating: Summary: God finally makes sense Review: This book transcends dogma and gets at what we ought to rely upon, our direct connection to God. This book refreshingly reminds us to forget listening to what religions say and start asking the Source direct. I'll never be lonely again. Neither are you. Thank you.
Rating: Summary: The truth is never where you would expect Review: I find it unfortunate that so many people have taken exception to the message given here. Many readers seem more inclined to believe words passed down over 2000 years than the obvious truth that is in front of them. The information in this book is as much common sense as it is spiritual. I challenge anyone to search this book to find any reference toward violence or judgement or any other of the small qualities that most of us engage in daily. This book simply states honest truths and allows us not to judge ourselves or anyone else for that matter. This is a far cry from the God of the bible that so many people still cling to and would fight to defend. Many of the revelations in this book have been written of before but they have never been explained in such a clear, understandable format. This is a great book and even if you choose not to agree with it, the writing carries a very positive message.
Rating: Summary: Clearly Written Review: Mystics have known the principles in this book for centuries. The difference is that in this day and age Walsch can freely and clearly write without fear of pursecution by fundamentalists. In a way it is sad that people been kept from the truth so long. Think of the misery that could have been avoided.
Rating: Summary: An Inspiring and Thought-Provoking Book Review: Neale has and uses his God-given talent for a beautiful writing in Friendship with God. As a Christian and friend of God, I found the book to be thought-provoking, inspiring, interesting, challenging and frustrating and recommend it. Friendship with God has helped to enhance and deepen my relationship with God that I have had for 10 years now. Like Friendship with God, the Bible is also a great read and it's so neat to know that God does not limit Himself to just one way of trying to speak to each of us. I'm looking forward to reading Neale's next book Communion with God.
Rating: Summary: Pure megalomania Review: I hate to criticize something which people love, but this book and this writer cannot be instruments of God; both Walsch and "god" appear to be megalomaniacs. Please, please, go read "He and I" by Gabrielle Bossis, which is one of the most beautiful books ever written, and also purports to be a conversation with God. The difference between these books couldn't be more striking: in Walsch's you meet a "god" who could very well be a slurring drunk you meet at a bar, in Bossis' version, you meet a God of infinite goodness and beauty. Read both books and judge for yourself; or just read Bossis' and read something of true beauty.
