Summary: Great way to get back to what it is all about
Review: This book really helps you get back to the heart of what really matters. It brings the real truth of what is important back to you and makes you think. It has challenged me to be a better person and a better Christian. I highly recommend it!

Summary: Read the Bible
Review: Read the source, read the Bible. God holds us each responsible for what we do and believe. Don't trust someone else to explain it to you. Warren twists it to his own opinion.

Summary: Great Book! (But it was good to read opposing comments)
Review: It was interesting to review a few of the comments listed. (Good and Bad)

Within the last year, I have purchased approximately 25 copies of this book for friends and family. Only 2 of my friends were not as excited with the book. Sadly, I thought there was something wrong with them because everyone else had such positive comments. However, after reading these reviews, I can understand that everyone is different, and we're all entitled to our opinions. (there were only a couple things I didn't agree with in the book, but it's still wonderful)

My fiancé and I read at the same time... and we enjoyed the experience so much that we decided to read again for the 40 days during lent. (his idea) My favorite chapters: 16, 26 and 4.

I travel all across the US for work. I usually have my book in hand... it's amazing how many people I have met from Washington DC, New Jersey, Cleveland, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, and even in Casper, Wyoming. All those people agreed with the positive messages.

I even met a nice gentleman on an airplane from Detroit who was reading it for the second time in his Korean language. He mentioned how interesting it was to read again in the second language. My mother and fiancé read it in Spanish. I'm going to also try it in Spanish, for my third read. That's why I came online - to order a few copies in Español.

God Bless!

Summary: Spiritually uplifting!
Review: I read this book right after I read book 3 of the Left behind Series and was awed. What a spiritually uplifting book. A whole lot less preachy than I expected, this book made me really evaluate my christian beliefs. What a great book for those who have doubts about their faith.

Summary: God is Great
Review: The Purpose Driven Life is an amazing book with more inspiration than any book I have ever seen other than the bible itself. Rick Warren writes this book with realistic knowledge that is very to the point, but shows how easily it can be done. The Purpose Driven Life has god's 5 main steps to living a life full of purpose and faith. Not only does this book help make the reader a person with a purpose in life but it also helps inspire the reader to help your fellow man. Rick Warren has created a book that clearly has shown God's work and how he has used him throughout his life, a true masterpiece.

Summary: Overated......really......think about it
Review: The book started out pretty good, then along the second half of the 40 days seems the author was running out of ideas and begin to repeat himself. Then what really turned me off was when he placed christians into the "world class" vs the "worldly" catagory. I do believe that no human can make this classification...only god can. Good book overall but way way overrated. Sorry.

Summary: Interesting Read
Review: I'm not going to write a lengthy review, as there are certainly plenty of those here. I believe Warren's motive was to inspire Christians to really get into their walk with the Lord, instead of sitting on the sidelines waiting for heaven. In that regard, he does a good job. My problem with the book, though, is his generous use of "paraphrases" of the Bible (such as The Message) instead of relying on accurate *translations* such as the NASB. You CANNOT trust paraphrases, ESPECIALLY "The Message". I believe the trap Warren has fallen into is to try to use the scriptures to prove his preconceptions, instead of relying on the scriptures to *shape* his viewpoint. That is the classic cart-before-horse scenario.

Summary: The Purpose Driven Life....
Review: I got the audio version of this book a couple of years ago, and I have to be honest...it didn't do much for me.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great for anyone
Review: My husband and I read this book together, and I have to tell you, it changed our marriage. It teaches trying to find your purpose in life by recognizing and using the gifts God gave you. We all have a purpose, talents, and gifts that we have been given, and if you go outside of your talents and purpose life can be a struggle. You could possibly be left doing something that is difficult or unfullfilling.
I would like to note that The Purpose Driven Life was not written on a third and or fourth grade level. I have a BA in English, and I will tell you that if I read this to my nine year old daughter she would not be able to grasp it. I would recomend this book to anyone that was searching for a bleif system or that was trying to find their way in life. It helped me tremendously.
