Summary: A Good Starter For Anyone
Review: This book is not oly a great study guide but, a great starter for anyone who is questioning the true meaning of why we are here. It is very forward and tells you the truth of why, howcome, and refers you to the point in the bible. It is a book that I read everyday, and use it all the time when I need some referince. It by far is one of the best books I have read.
So if you are just learning about god and want more information and are afraid to ask, this is the book for you. THE BEST ON FOR INFORMATION.

Summary: I Disagree
Review: Anyone who is reading this review, please read it through.
When I looked at the first chapter of this book, i was appalled and frustrated. I read the second paragraph reading, "...We ask self-centered questions like What do I want to be? What should I do with my life? What are my goals, my ambitions, my dreams..." (and the author goes on to explain that those are selfish and God should come first) and I thought "no that is not right." The author explains that it shouldn't start with ourselves and that its nonsense. Well, let me give you proof that he's wrong.
Here is proof:
1.You can't start with God if you hate him
2.You can't start with God if you don't know where to begin
My point is that you need to start with yourself because thats part of loving yourself. You can't love God, if you don't know and love yourself. Loving yourself is loving God within. See for yourself...

Summary: It's not about me!
Review: Those who reviewed this book and gave it 1 star, totally missed the point of this book. I like the first chapter which set the tone for the entire book. "It's not about me." It's about a relationship with God. It's not about what church the author belongs to. It's not even about the book, it's about God! Oh, if we all could see that the most important thing is our relationship with God, how easily we would encourage each other and how slow we would be to criticize others. Get this book! Get a buddy to read it with you. You can enjoy a new life relationship with your Creator. He's just waiting for you to respond.

Summary: Fantastic book
Review: Two books that I read in the last few days that touched my heart. One, the renewal of faith is "The Purpose Driven Life" and the other is "Nightmares Echo...a story of triump over abuse. Both books show courage...I recommend them highly.

Summary: A Learning Vacation from Life
Review: The energy and popularity of this book is now understood.
The story, the truths, the passion in the author's words offers an enjoyable get away. Although the words come easy this is not a casual read, it is extremely thought provoking. Plan your time to read this book, like you would plan a vacation. This book offers a chapter a day reading for 40 days that will settle you, ground you and along with the Holy Spirit educate you more about your true self. Follow the directions and read one chapter a day, there is a lot to digest in each chapter regardless of your learning competancy. Give yourself no less than 30 minutes to an hour a day. Be prepared for change, this book may change your life.

Summary: Get closer to God.
Review: This book was wonderful! I had trouble reading only one chapter a night. Our church went through the whole book together and it has changed almost every one of us. Lives were molded to be more like Christ. This is a great book for the "baby christians" and for the spiritually mature. It just depends on if you are really seeking God or if you are seeking something to tell you what you want to hear. God doesn't tell you what you want to hear...He tells the truth just like this book does.
By the way, Saddleback is a Church of Christ, not Southern Baptist. People need to get back to the basics. Read God's word and decipher the message of the book for yourself. Acts 17:11...Be good Bereans and you'll find that this book is not only a great place to start getting into your bible, it's also a great place to refresh your knowlege.
