Rating: Summary: Great Beginner's Book! Review: I recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn the basics of feng shui. This is a very fundamental guide, but can make a lot of difference in the way you decorate your home or office. Of course, feng shui is not an art that can be easily or quickly grasped, but Ms. Too gives a very good taste of the concept.
Rating: Summary: Just a summary - don't expect answers Review: I was looking for a feng shui book that was instructional and explanatory with pictures and a basic introduction on how to set up my home.I got all those things from the book, but I was disappointed at how superficial the writing was. This had about as much information as a magazine article. I totally disagree with the previous reviews stating this was too technical. There ARE formulas you need to use to calculate your personal lucky number. Basically, it's a simple math equation. But this is very simple and easy to use. In fact, each chapter has the same formula to determine your personal direction of maximal auspiciousness. Once you've determined your lucky number, are you really going to forget it in between chapters? In addition, parts of the book repeat advice and language -- almost verbatim -- from previous sections. The book needs significant editing, and a complete infusion of fresh photos. The stock images used in the book don't even show rooms and houses that are properly laid out. Captions don't match pictures, and often, the reader is left with even more questions about what the author is trying to convey. If all you're looking for is a basic overview, you can get it from the Internet.
Rating: Summary: Recommended Review: Lillian Too's books are easy to understand. I have decided after purchasing her books that I will not buy any other books on Feng Shui except hers.
Rating: Summary: Long but interesting Review: This book is not for the beginner---it can be along and confusing read---but if you have a grasp of feng shui then you will find it to be very helpful. I would say that this book complements beginnning books.
