Summary: CAPTIVATING AND ENTRANCING
Review: A tale of true love, and crimes of passion not written for the weak of heart. Its graphic violence is sadly enough realistic. The characters are so well written that you believe that they are someone you know and think about them for days. You cheer when love conquers and weep with those who weep during their losses. A well written modern tale for our time that expounds on living with HIV without being preachy. Educates without boredom and entertains with class and style that exudes from this author. You will enjoy this one so much you will want to buy the sequel WINTER IN JULY to see what else happens to these characters. Though the leading males are Gay, and the leading lady is straight, this book is definitely ready for EVERYONE! I couldn't put it down! Enchant us with more and more and more, Mr. Marquez!

Summary: The Hunt Echoes From The dark
Review: Antonio Marquez writes his tale in a conversational prose that makes you feel a comfortable friend is telling a damn good yarn. This is not a book for the faint of heart. From the first page to the last Mr. Marquez carries the reader through lives that are elevated by love, frustrated by fear and destroyed by hate.

Summary: A Review By Carlos
Review: Echoes From The Dark starts off with an explosive genre of the darkness to come. By immediately setting the scene of a grusome murder in the forefront of powerful summer rainstorm. For example, to paraphrase the opening of the novel: The blood of an innocent victim splatters a vivid landscape as the laughter from "The Butcher" siezes the community into terror. A serial killer is hunting. Thus, this is the frantic pace of this novel. It's a rich love story of a gay couple. A couple that is forced to dance to the tune that The Butcher sings, as his rhythm hunts them down. The atmosphere is a seemingly catastrophic storm that rains down endless social ills. Leaving one to question stereotypes, status quo, morals and values. Hence, "Echoes From The Dark" hits on a multitude of social and cultural issues. A hot issue is HIV/AIDS. This novel scratches at the relentless, oozing wound of a person's spirit who is living, maintaining, coping and struggling with this heartless disease. Not to mention the partners, loved ones and community that is too effected. The above are forced to the outside to watch in as their infected loved ones grapple with hope and hopelessness daily. This novel juxtaposes your mind with that of the infected as they press into the anger, regret, sorrow and love of life. Which squeezes the reasoning of your mind and your conscience of soul. The characters are diverse. Leading the way is a racially diverse couple, Tony DeSantos and Guy Sutherland. Anchoring the mystery is a hard charging Detective Sergeant Lorrayne Lobato. Lobato indeed takes a dynamic role and interest into the case as it becomes a personal crusade for her career and life. In addition, the attention to detail puts you in the fearful footsteps of each character. The ongoing mystery reels you in as the police investigation into the serial murders ripens. In conclusion, "Echoes From The Dark" is action packed from the first page to the last. The pace is smooth, reasonable and consistant throughout leaving you thirsty for more.
