Summary: a decent police procedural
Review: this was really quite a good book. our local library classified it as a mystery, which was why i picked it up initially, but it's not a mystery - it's a story about a woman's growth, both professional and personal, from rookie-in-training to cop-on-the-street. the characters are nicely developed and the action feels real. good reading, although to me not as compelling as a whodunit.
