Review: I had the pleasure to sit in Mr Shecter's classroom last semester in Universit? du Qu?bec ? Montr?al. He tought us about contemporary sociological authors. Having met the man, it was especially interesting for me to read the three stories that make up this delightfull little book. Especially interesting for the adept of social sciences, The Dangers of Critical Thought, even though written in the novel mode, makes many references to sociological theories and gives the reader an interesting outlook of the socio-political portrait of the province of Qu?bec, viewed through the eyes of an Anglophone. It also gives an insight on love and relationships between couples of different sexual orientations.

Knowing the man, even on a student-professor basis, I could tell that his story telling was mainly the result of personal experiences, which made it even more interesting to read, since I greately appreciate him as a man of science.

I would recommend this book for anyone looking to read stories that feature interesting characters which lives and actions are analyzed using theories from the greatest authors like Karl Marx, to name just one. Sociologists and those who are interested with nationalisms will be absolutely delighted by this piece of work.
