Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Mistress Steel does it again!! Review: I am on Mistress Steel's mailing list for her website and receive her chapter-by-chapter novels as she writes them. 'Rhapsody' is a wonderfully written story that is not only thought provoking but one that will take the mind on a spellbinding journey. When I first began to read 'Rhapsody' I had no idea where the story would lead, but as I continued through the chapters I found that I could not wait for Ms. Steel to send out the next portion. 'Rhapsody' is a wonderful creation that I would and have recommended to many, many people. This book is exactly what those of us who have read Mistress Steel's previous works have come to expect. Buy her book... It is well worth the money.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Review of Rhapsody Review: Initally hesitant to read it, I find Rhapsody an altogether different take on the usual Fem-fem erotica being published today. Rhapsody is the story of Genevieve and the conquering of her personal beliefs and intimate deamons when confronted with them by her new roommate Tempest. Rhapsody is the exploration of the soul when faced with itself. I was initially introduced to the story through my subscription to the Steel Door newsletter. I, however, could not immerse myself in the story as it was released chapter by chapter. And when I received my copy in the post, I had put it away with the other books to read, remembering how I could not comprehend the story. How wrong I was to do that. I read Rhapsody in three hours, which to me is quick because I just could not put this book down. In that time, I ran the entire gamut of emotions while reading it, fear, anger, happiness, exstacy, everything. Tempest constantly degrades and humiliates Genevieve, which both terrifies and excites her. One can't help but empathise with Genevieve. She is a character that is fully developed. We, as people, can see facets of ourselves in Genevieve, regardless of gender. Here is a woman, secure in her "truths" of her little world, all set to live comfortably within that world, when Tempest enters her life. Tempest, with her rules, and her ideals, both frightens and enraptures Genevieve. Genevieve must learn to overcome her self- held beliefs if she is to co-exist with Tempest, even accept an existence in Tempest's world if she is to stay in her dormroom. One thing I do like about Rhapsody, but took a while to comprehend, was the all the introspection within Genevieve's mind. Mallory has written the story where that introspection is the entire moving force of the story. This introspection forced me, as a reader, to re-evaluate myself if I were to ever be in a similar position. That is really quality writing, with emphasis on the Quality. Mallory cares for her characters. They grow, change, and evolve during the course of the story, which very few writers can manage to do successfully. And I don't just refer to Genevieve with that statement. Tempest grows as well. In the beginning, we see her as an invader into Genevieve's life. Tempest, during the course of the story, evolves into a caring yet very stern roommate for Genevieve. Genevieve grows personally under Tempest's strict guidance, which terrifies and enthrills her. In the end, Genevieve accepts her inner daemons, and in return, becomes a stronger person for it. I love this story. I consider this story to be "thinking person's erotica" or "erotica of the mind". Very few writers have had me re-evaluate myself based on a piece of literature. Mallory is one of those writers. As I stated in my review of Extreme Space, I look forward to any and all future works by this writer, as she has him hooked. I recommend this novel to those interested in either D/s or erotica in general.
