Rating: Summary: Everything you could ask for in a novel Review: This is the best book I have read in ten years! Within a context of thriller excitement and unexpected twists, Peter Szabo crystallizes THE archetypes of gay male sexuality and memory. He seems to reach into the reader's personal experiences, hopes and dreams. His history is ours. He has put into words what we all understand to be true about life and love. Erotic, exciting, and optimistic, with those twists and turns, the reader will learn something about himself that is vital, and at the same time, find glorious entertainment. The trip to places and circumstances, Nazis and the occult keeps the curious mind enthralled. Who has not yearned to know what ever happened to that beautiful man in the vintage nude magazine, his image burned into our sexual psyche so long ago. How did he get on those pages to begin with and where did his life lead afterwards. Did he have a happy life, who did he love, is he still around, perhaps retired somewhere with grandkids who could never dream that he was an icon when he was beautiful. I could not stop reading, although I was constantly aware of the disappointment I would feel at the last page, the story ending. I have given a copy of this book to 12 people who I know will identify with it, and learn so much from it. How so much fantasy and reality is folded into the pages of one book is a testament to Mr. Szabos' writing mastery, understanding of the psyche, and love for the erotic! My message to the author: Peter, PLEASE let this be the first volume of a many volume set. These characters must not end with this book! I do not want to let go of Joe, Lewis, Jed, Salinger, or Rutter. And, if you will email me, I will tell you about my own quest to find a 1950's physique star! I found him; he was in his 70's
